What exactly would you do if CA released material for RTW that allowed modders up to 50 factions , 600 providences , 600 units max , some what moddable AI and diplomacy , way more building types and up to 12 religions for BI ?

You mean, besides salivate profusely?
Short-circuit from system overload ?
I'd spend most of my time getting the basic outlines of the other factions set up. Basic banners, color combinations for the factions, names for characters, that sort of stuff. And help on figuring out where to put the other cities. Then start putting them on the map in their appropriate places. 50-21=29, so I'd like to add:
22. Pergamon
23. Bosphorian Kingdom
24. Syrakousai
25. Massaeili
26. Celtiberia
27. Kimbrii
28. Chattii
29. Erain
30. Boii
31. Bithynian League
32. Aitolian League
33. nascent Achaean League
34. Some type of Ethiopian faction
35. Another South Arabian faction
36. A way to get an Indian faction in
37. Emergent Yuezhi faction
38. Massagetae
39. Iberian faction (not spain-iberia)
40. Lugians
41. Sinope-Trapezous faction
42. Another Celtic faction in Gaul
43. Massalia faction
44. Cyrene
45. Some sort of Berber or Garamantene faction
46. Division of Sauromatae faction into two tribes (or three)
47. Illyrians
48. Kappadocian faction (if more provinces)
49. Emergent Judaean faction
50. Emergent Rival Baktrian faction
:laugh4: run and hide
thats what id do :laugh4:

My list of factions isn't different from Teleklos's;
22. Pergamon
23. Bosphorian Kingdom
24. Syrakousai
25. Massaeili
26. Celtiberia
27. Kimbrii
28. Liguria
29. Errain
30. Boii
31. Bithynian League
32. Aitolian League
33. Achaean League
34. Belgica
35. Nabataens
36. A way to get an Indian faction in
37. Emergent Yuezhi faction
38. Massagetae
39. Callaeci/Galaecians
40. Lugians
41. Sinope-Trapezous faction
42. Aquitania
43. Massalia faction
44. Cyrene
45. Brigantia (if there are more provinces)
46. Division of Sauromatae faction into two tribes (or three)
47. Illyrians
48. Kappadocian faction (if more provinces)
49. Emergent Judaean faction
50. Emergent Rival Baktrian faction
I'd push for an emergant Romani Rebel Faction.
im still leaning towards the "run and hide" option meself
No Galatians or Goidilic factions?
I'd run like hell too . At the same time I know those guys making that dark age mod would use this as an excuse to finally solve the dumb rome versus china topics and include China .
The Errain/Eirran (litany of other spellings) would become Goidelic within about a generation of the game (or possibly start; it all depends on how one interprets the timing of the emergence of the Gaelic culture as dominant in Ireland).Quote:

It would be interesting to think about CA releasing a downloadable-only version of the game (1.7?) with some hard coded limits increased. Very simple, but maybe there would be a lot of folks who would download it. I'd wager more folks would than downloaded Alexander.
Galatians could maybe be worked in with Bithynia. I couldn't see them as a single faction, since most of their work was done by this point as mercenaries or allies of others, but could pad them out a bit (have a realistic Hellenic-Galatian alliance). Could have their second government type be to grant the Galatians more land (since Galatia was formed out of a grant from the king of Bithynia, if I recall).
I'll talk to CA. I have an offer they can't refuse.
Jee suomalainen!
Finns have offers they can't refuse.. send me one of your blonde womens and I'll give her an offer she would better refuse if she doesn't want to end up in a wheelchair.
jee!
anyways... I'd definitely get kicked out of my house for leaving work, flunking my master's. I already get in enough trouble shouting in unison in ancient Greek and Latin when I select a unit. MISTHOPHOROI SPARTIAAATAIIIIIIIIIII LOOOL!
sister) OMG SHUT UP
keravnos, your voice is goofy, especially phalangitai deoooooohtehroyyyyyyyy
Edit: Owned myself in spelling Keravnos's name.
wtf. I'm confused.:inquisitive:Quote:

The first thing I'd do? Kill Teleklos after he handed me that list!! Seriously, you guys out here have no idea how much work is involved in creating a new faction. We've been working on Saka and Saba for almost a year now, and they still aren't done. Hell, the others have been on the board for over TWO YEARS, and THEY aren't done either.
It is a nice dream, but my fantasy priority would rank "more skinners, animators, and 3D modelers" far above new factions and provinces. (And the fact that those ranked higher than "threesomes with supermodels" is....just.....sad.)
I'd be happy to create about 15 new Hellenic factions - that would take a lot of the burden off the eastern and barb guys.

Is there any technical reason why this isnt actually feasible for CA? Surely all they need to do is change some numbers in the code. Its not like changing the AI or the game mechanics.
Why making an outdated game better than your gaming company battlehorse?
More money maybe? What would be so awful in making some more cash if all they had to do was open up the province/unit/model/buildingcomplex restrictions? Is that too wacky of an idea?
If they had a commercial brain you'd think they would link it to an update like BI.....you know.....incentivise people to spend more.....:dizzy2:
Hell how many of you guys wouldn't mind paying an extra 20 for it(if they did it) ? I would just cause I know the modders would go crazy with it , and that would be an advantage too for CA . It would keep the "hardcore " crowd which they have seem to disowned with M2TW off of modding M2TW.
I've always thought Nubia would be a pretty neat faction to have a go as.
Why is everyone wasting time talking about something that will never happen? Get back to work EB Team!
We are working. Testing Update7 even as we speak.....and that's the build that will probably be rolled out to you guys as the v.81 Patch (with a few additional last minute fixes and tweaks, of course.)Quote:

Why ? It's to small, don't you think so.
Belgians OTOH (Nervians, menapians ?).
Where as I doubt how reliable these maps are, I have a map illustrating Massilia as mildly important and relatively large.Quote:

Achaen league - I'm not sure wether it already existed by 270BC, but Sparta and Athens were not part of it at least.
Yeah, that's why I said I doubt the reliablity of it. This set of maps I found are really bad at "barbarian" representation. Each one seems to be related to something specific and the rest is just backround to that kingdom or event.Quote:
