PANKAEKS! They are the best
I love pankakes with sweet milk.Im hungry
Mmm, waffles. So delicious with butter, and not too much syrup. Or with whipped cream and strawberry toppings....
[makes Homer-esque drooling sounds]
Crumpets, obviously.
Waffles Ftw!!
Chocolate chip pancakes.
Either (tho' I tend toward pancakes, for ease of construction) with egg & sausage & syrup between each layer.
Gah... definitely Gah...
Pancakes, with sugar and lemon juice :chef:
Can you eat Gah with butter and syrup? I think not.:thumbsdown:Quote:

I voted Gah. On the one hand pancakes and waffles are about as easy to make as another, but the waffles require a special iron so that's a negative point for them. Then again waffles do have the small advantage of a "syrup trap." I'll just have to say that both are delicious and I don't really prefer one over the other but if anyone ever puts any of that Aunt Jemima's stuff on my pancakes or waffles I will kill them. Vermont syrup is naturally the best and only some Canadian types from the border near Vermont are likely to be worthy of being eaten as well.
Pancakes!!!!
I once made garlic bread with crumpets. Oh my... :no:Quote:

Pancakes since you can make them easy when you are out camping in a forest. Pancakes with ice cream or honey is delicious.
i, most respectfully, request a french toast option.
Gah on toast.
Leggo my Eggo!
Waffles:2thumbsup:
Pancakes. With banana, toffee and hot chocolate.... talk about a nutritious breakfast...
In Holland we know how to make real pancakes; a pancake with bacon and mushrooms gets my vote any day.
Waffles,with strawberry jam and sugar.
Pancakes, with vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce and whipped cream on the ice.
Mmmmm....
Pancakes. Though they are more fun to make then they are to eat. A bit sickening after you eat a few.
Indeed, eating those thick and heavy american pancakes is a let down every time anew.Quote:

Pancakes conquer waffles, No cretin’s waffles can beat a pancake
I make my pancakes and waffles with Swiss Miss cocoa mix in the batter for a chocolaty taste. :loveg:
Personally, I love waffles more.
Waffles, hrr. Not bad, but I'd prefer pancakes. Sweet-tasting pancakes that have raisins inside them scattered. They should taste sweet without these raisins too, the most basic pancake that can be so d'licious to the human senses. Mmmmm. And powdered sugars: mmmmm. Though I'd prefer the darkish thick pancake syrup.... MMMMMMM!
I don't get it with those bacon pancakes and such. How can anyone eat those, let alone INVENT the idea? A pancake, supposed to be sweet, but then you got salty bacon on it? Hrrr >.< Of course, to everybody his taste. It's just that I'd PUKE immensely when eating one myself, physically, and then think of the psychological oddity when one expects something sweet-tasting :) It's like you have a sweet-tasting pie, but for some reason they invented those "pies" that have meat and other salt stuff in it. Blegh!
Romanian pancake-e things which you might call crepes. Otherwise, it's waffles.
heh, i made it so the poll wont close until feb. 2009. i need your guys' help in not letting this get deleted!!!
Anyway, im starting to think that i should have taken GAH out. it takes votes away from waffles. GO WAFFLES!!!
Waffles. The texture is superior. I got really sick of eating pancakes after the second one. Waffle, on the other hand, didn't bore me.
Or something like that.
And vanilla ice cream is better on waffles than pancakes. Or jams, syrup, and a bottle of honey for that matter. The only thing that goes better with pancakes than waffles is butter.
*this only includes American considerations. I'm not exactly familiar with European cuisine. And that Dutch bacon-pancake thing sounds intriguing. Very intriguing. After all, I'm the kind of guy who goes all out on the most murderous piece of oily, grilled soul food ever made with a glutton's smile and still remain unhealthily thin.
I always thought they were french :dizzy2:Quote:

Waffles.
I'm not even sure if they're still in existence, but there used to be a chain of restaurants here in the States called Panakuken Hus(spelling?). The pancakes there were (supposedly) made in the Dutch style, which I confess I found to be just marvelous. They were really tasty! :yes:Quote:

The only thing that waffles dont have over pancakes are the places named after them
Waffles: The Waffle House.:skull:
Pancakes: IHOP or Original Pancake House. ~:pimp:
French Toast
Don't lie, you know everyone in Texas eats biscuits and gravy with spotted owl sausages for breakfast.Quote:

It's not the pancakes that are supposed to taste delicious, it's what you put on them that makes them one of the greatest breakfast foods out there. Try pancakes with Vermont Maple Syrup and you'll know what I mean. Grade A or B syrup from a small farmer in Vermont truly makes pancakes delicious. Oh and never eat Aunt Jemima's, it's not the real deal and is nothing more than an insul to real maple syrup.Quote:

Pancakes are good, but waffles with chocolate...*drools*
waffles with peanut butter and syrup. it may sound nasty, but its like Sushi, you never know until you try.
Don't worry. ~;) I suspect I'll die of starvation before heart attack considering my terrible eating habits, which is tied in with my terrible sleeping habits, living habits, and all the things that ended up with "-habits."Quote:

I'm considering hopping over the border just to check out your supposedly wonderful pancakes. They'd better be worth it !
Heh. :laugh4: Yeah, I was a little disappointed they weren't an option as well, but then I would've had a much harder time choosing between them and waffles. ~DQuote:

Pancakes for me.
Poffertjes, a.k.a. small pancakes. A.k.a. I love pancakes.
I voted for pancakes, but I speak of the large thin ones with sarasin flour we can find in France (Brittany is the most renowned place):
Salty? Mushrooms, cheese and bacon (but not loads of greasy stuff)
I had some very good ones with minced smoked salmon, some "hard" cream and spices
Sugar? Minced bananas, melted chocolate, minced almonds
Bon appétit!
:laugh4:

For now i will consider GAH a vote for french toast. In reality it still does not compare with sausage gravy on a plate full of shredded hash browns with a bit of well chopped onion.
My arteries weep at the thought.
Homemade, they are both good, but in a restaurant, pancakes are often too heavy. So, I voted for waffles.
My grandmother was from Germany. She made great German pancakes.
Potatoe pancakes? My great grandma was from Germany. She came over on a clippership in the late 1800s and lived to be 89. She made the most delicious pancakes in the world. To hell with french toast. Gimme German panckaes :laugh4:Quote:
