3. Scots, Milan and Moors.
Now im working on the English. This time im trying to play a different way.
I will make an empire out of the Holy lands and wipe out the mongols when they appear.
3: HRE, Turks, Russia
0.
There's a point in every game when it's just not interesting to continue. I feel I can steamroll anybody, just don't bother to.
Played as England, Moors and Byzantium (now).
2: Spain and the Turks so far. Russians now :2thumbsup:
Egypt, Spain, England
hre, scots, turks, moors, sicilians, french
atm byzantine
I always feel bad when i reach the limit of their real expansion, going anywhere else seems stupid unless i can think of some kind of excuse like trying to remake the Roman empire as Byzantium.
Only one, as HRE (and in only 60 turns).
Right now I have campaigns going as France, HRE, Milan, Hungary, Venice, Scotland and Poland. I’ve had a hard time deciding who to specialize in!:shame:
0, played as England and Byz. Shelved the game due to bugs and balance problems shortly after 1.1. patch. Looks like the 1.2 patch may help fix many of these, at least hopefully.
1 as england. Currently playing as Sicily. Ended up blitzing a few territories off the start. Took Durazzo and Cagliari within a turn or two, ended up getting several units of troops (as rewards from the council of nobles) which sent my budget into the negatives. I received 4 units of Mailed Knights which increased my expenses by 1000 florins!. Since there was no way to rebalance the budget without disbanding the new troops, I utilized those new troops and several others to quickly take Ajuccio and Florence. When I have the troops prepared, I have eyes on Tunis and then off to Timbuktu for lots of gold.
On the dipomacy scene, the princess blitzed Italy to get trade agreements and alliances with the Pope, HRE, Venice and Milan.
Still playing through my first (English) long campaign. I have 49 territories, but I haven't taken Jerusalem just yet to claim the Win, because the Pope owns it and I wanted to explore the New World a little bit before getting myself excommunicated. Just landed the first troops in Florida in turn 203 so I will need to get cracking.
Just short ones so far... I like the more immediate objectives rather than the capture 50 provinces thing...
Also I use the community fixes/mods and I have a tendency to restart a short campaign after a significant update to any of those...
Once the 2 update patch is out I might finally give a long campaign a go...
I have won with Spain, Scotland, Russia and Venice. Now about half way done with Byz.
i have won three campaigns france, russia, and milan. and in none of them do the HRE put up any fight either with me or the other AI :furious3: :furious3: :furious3: :furious3: :furious3: :furious3: :furious3: :furious3: :furious3: :furious3: :furious3:
Finished my first one as England just the other night. I was using a combination of Ultimate AI/M2TW Lite and Darth's battle formations mods, so waiting on patch 1.2 before I start another one so I can play a vanilla game with all the fixes promised to see how it plays out. Probably will play as England again just to compare vanilla 1.2 with 1.1 modded version I was using.
One, as Egypt.
7 total, England, France, Milan, Sicily, Turks, Spain, and Denmark. Blitz through all of them pretty fast. Working on my Russian campaign now.
Byzantines first game, then Spain second game, then Venice third game. Stopped playing then until the second patch. Thinking of England for game 4.

4 long ones, but I intentionallt made extra conditions for victory like, no attacking fellow catholics or no sacking, always releasing, no exploits etc.
I think an Iron-man set of rules would be good
If I could vote 2 England, Scotland. Haven't played long enough for the New World. Waiting for the next patch before I start another long campaign but unsure of the next faction.
I haven't actually played all that much: 3 Russia, 1 Byzantine, 2 Sicily, 1 and 1/2 Scotland (Working on it), 1 Moors, 1 Portugal and 1 France.
I think you have!Quote:

Although it's true - at some point, when you dominate the map with like 30 or 35 provinces, the game gets tedious pretty quick.
By that time, chances are that your reputation has tanked, so you'll be constantly at war with everyone and it just is a matter of churning out enough troops to wear down the opposition, finally keeping that last region you need for the little end movie.
Eng, Scot, Spain, and started Russ, & Biz... The game is great bugs and all play, play, play thats the way :laugh4: :smash: :charge: . I do feel that I can steam roll the game but that is not what it is all about! Build up your capital city with all building, strategically place your castles, fight every battle yourself, go rebel hunting, crusading, a good mix of what troops, princess, merchants, assassins, diplomats, ect... there is just so much to do :beam: .

Haven´t ever finished a campaign and I probably never will. The long camp requirements are ridiculous: "take XX provinces" etc etc, bah! Like the only measurement of a successful kingdom/ empire is conquest?! The short camp rec are too easy though. And it´s always about destroying factions, personally I don´t like it.
I roleplay my games hardcore and when my objectives are met I quit. Usually I´m done in 100-150 turns. I´ve never played with cannons and muskets since I´m done with the game before that. I miss eras, glorious achievements and the ability to play this game with a more cultural feeling.
I'm not able to vote, but to date I've only finished one campaign as England (VH/VH). I'm currently about 30 moves into Egypt on VH/VH.
I am not allowed to vote. But finished as Turks, England, Spain, Russia and Denmark so far.
i clicked 2 to 4, but as i now recall it is probably more like 6. i to tend to start alot of campaigns and then give up when i have no more challenging enemies.
because of the crazy ai it eventually becomes very hard to avoid crushing your neighbours
Don't like destroying factions? TW Heresy!Quote:

That´s me & the Romans in RTW [sorry about the hi-jack]....I always hunt them down....wherever i may find them.Quote:

I blitz everytime so I finish long campaigns quite quickly. Milan, Denmark, Hungary, Venice, Portugal, Spain, Sicily, Poland, HRE, Turks, and Byz Empire which is 11 i believe
I finished 2 extremely long campaigns both as France ( addicted to them)
I've only completed one long campaign, as the romans (byzantine empire) while all my other games have been short campaigns, because I find it to be unrealistic for Scotland or any of the small factions to conquer all of Europe.
I am playing the Turks on a long compaign right now, though..
Hello! I've finished 3 long campains: the scots, the spanish and the danes. I'm now working on my fourth with the hungarians.
BTW? Is there a mod wich contains my factions (romanians)?
P.S. How can I vote in this poll?
ive won 2. I have started lots more but i get bored once i hit 30 regions and wipe all my saved games and start again.
I'm currently trying to complete one as the French. They are proving more of a challenge than the Spanish.
Milan. Still playing as them. 1083AD (I take ages on turns, and also have work to be getting on with).
My ally, the Pope, loves me. My Cardinal is the top Preferati too. Milan, Genoa and Florence are under my finger. And soon, Ajaccio...

the normal campaign is just a land grab...it gets very mind numbing after while
I voted 1 though technically I haven't achieved final victory for the HRE yet. I do have a large army 1 year of travel away from Rome (maybe 2 days because the way is blocked by some Papal units). I just haven't found the time all week to actually go and take Rome (having kids really cuts into your gaming time guys...)
I really enjoyed this campaign though it is a shame I didn't put more emphasis on teching up because I didn't really get a chance to use the top tier units yet, and using them now seems kind of pointless, since I have in essence already won. I used the mounted crossbowmen once but they failed to kill the English king before the battle was almost over, so they weren't that useful. I haven't yet used arquebusiers, gothic knights or Reiters, so that is a lot of potential still untapped.
Probably I should redo the HRE on a harder level but I am just itching to try a new faction now, probably the Danes or Hungarians.
Wow about half have done 0-1 campaigns finished? Are people getting bored?
I put in 0, I only play short campaigns........................................................................................... .................................................................................................... .................................................................................................... ........:balloon2: Baloon!
it gets boring to me, i did it with egypt, after that i start a game, get 100 turns in and just get bored
the endless need to take every crappy little backwater faction and village within 45 provinces around you loses its appeal quickly
we just did this same thing with rome, and did it with more options <GA> in the old mtw...what happened to being creative :tumbleweed:
I have won with almost all fractions, haven't played yet with Venice, Russia and Hungary. Tried with Moors but gave up because didn't like their units -they are ok at the begining but in late period are week. I'm playing H/H. The easiest campaigns were with England, HRE and Scotland, the most difficult - France and Milan. Now I'm playing Egypt and it's going well so far - fighting with Mongols in Antioh region.
u should try venice, its one of the most fun
I have finished 3 long campaigns....England, Venice, and Byzantine.
i feel your pain brotherQuote:
