Screenshot of the month submission thread (June)
Almost 60.000 logged people have EB .81 installed on their computers. Hence a lot of EB screenhots must have been made and I don't think we've seen them all yet, so start submitting folks!
The rules again:
- Every fan can participate but can only submit one screenshot every month.
- Full screens, only the UI is allowed to be cropped out.
-You are allowed to edit them with photoshop, it is however not a requirement.
- All images must come from EB.
-All screenshots must be send in before the last week of the month in this thread.
Now how will we choose the winner? Well the EB-team will elect the 10 best (if the amount of submissions require it). A poll will be opened the last week of the month, in which the fans can cast their vote. The winner will be the one who got the most votes. The poll will close the last day of the month. The next day submissions for the next month can be made in a new thread.
Good luck and best wishes,
-The EB Team.
note: all screens must be in before the 23th!

I made the AR 16:9 so it would seem more cinematic. :idea2:
Those sabeans sure were shocked. :clown:

The rest of my happy band of Dahae got killed. This lone rider ran down the last of the Seleukid Akontistai on his own. There were over 20 of them left when the unit routed so he must have been scary.

My Carthage army got finally defeated in Sidon after defending the isolated city against 6 full Seleucid stacks in a row :)
there are probably 3,5k corpses in this picture although it was hard to get them all in 1 shot :)

This probably shouldn't count for the contest since I'm a member, but here's one of my favorites.

This is one of the screenshots that I took about 4-5 months ago on a day that I had absolutely nothing to do. Screenshot-taking didn't do much for my boredom, but I got some nice pics.

What can I say, guys? Seeing pics like that makes all of the hours spent seem worthwhile. Amazing pics I see here.
A big thanks to all who paraticipated. "MORE PICS!", is all that comes to mind right now.

Re: Screenshot of the month submission thread (June)
dang.... those are some sweet ones... and were are only on the 6th of JUNE!
-
Re: Screenshot of the month submission thread (June)
I loved specially this last one. The scenery of a huge mass of disorderly troops filling the picture, in contrast with the perfect order of the opposite army, with everyone perfectly formed up in the lower parts of the picture. Truly lovely. Very nice pictures, the others.

Re: Screenshot of the month submission thread (June)
What you don't see in my picture is that fact that that pantodapoi unit was just about to get surrounded from the right and directly behind by yet another Saka army, independent from the one in the center of the pic...they ended up fighting to the last man, despite being crunched on nearly all sides and not maintaining order. brave souls.

Re: Screenshot of the month submission thread (June)
I've taken some screenshots from the game (I think - I pressed Prnt Sc), but where do I find them?
-
Re: Screenshot of the month submission thread (June)
Regarding Megas Phyrros' post, I don't believe I ever seen that type of city before (with tents) are these for steppe people?
But I played my Sauromatae campaign and had lots of battles conquering steppe settlements (I own all the steppe) and I don't recall ever seeing them.
:sweatdrop:
EDIT: Or are those forts? Warm climate forts or something?

You have to push prt scr, minimize RTW, open something like paint and then paste, and you will have your screenshot. Or download something like FRAPS to manage screenshots.

Re: Screenshot of the month submission thread (June)
That was my northern fort in Baktria, on that river on the road between Baktra and Marakanda...i had a few units there to mess up the Saka advance to Baktra inside that fort.

Or you can press Print Screen to take screens, and then look into ''your RTW folder/tgas''.
You'll need some program to view them though (Windows image viewer doesn't support .tga format apparently)

For most systems, those file just turn out black.

That's because you'd have to turn off anti-aliasing for them to work. I guess i forgot to mention that... :shame:

Yup. Those are forts. The Sabyn atleast use exactly that type of walled tent city for their fort. Most eastern faction propably have the same.
-
Re: Screenshot of the month submission thread (June)
Wish the eastern faction walls could have texture work done on them to make them mud-brick. Not .cas work, just .dds work. That would be awesome, and would seem appropriate for eastern and maybe semitic culture groups too.

Re: Screenshot of the month submission thread (June)
loved that picture with the machimoi cavalry and sabean units, that is my favorite so far.
Anyway here my submission:
"Parthian Heaven (Parietal)"
https://img143.imageshack.us/img143/...ncaustoix1.jpg
i had to add the wite square cause it is "brown oriented" so it was awfull on the same brown background of the forum.
I know those little white sympathic nizag gunds are a bit "static" there, but you can just imagine them as those little angels charachters who look outside of the picture in the Rinassaince paintworks (ok as usually im bit paranoid)
PS
@The Errant:
it's him, im sure it's Him!... i can even see his buddy archer-friend supporting him in the background ("Come on, C'mon! make it quick! K."). sure He will appreciate that! (wherever He is now...)

It's called "Long Way From Home".

Doesn't always load for me when I load the page, bizarrely :S
Anyway, it's located at http://img2.freeimagehosting.net/uploads/fc44eb2488.jpg
It loads in FF for me, but not always in IE - not sure why :S

A picture from a really fun battle I had recently in my KH camp. I barely won, every soldier really counted. What you cant see in this picture is my left which the selues is pushing REALLY hard. I was just barely able to hold it long enough for my general to flank his center line throw a small gap just left in this picture. Fun fun fun! :D

Re: Screenshot of the month submission thread (June)
wow, that's actually a really cohesive AI phalanx, as the AI goes, and that screen would be a strong contender if not for the highlighted unit way up at the top...I wonder if its against our rules to edit that out...?
PS--for those who might wonder, you can deselect units (so you don't get highlighted units etc, or even the little pointer arrows, by pressing "enter." maybe y'all knew that already, but it took me a while to find it out.
-
Re: Screenshot of the month submission thread (June)
Or go into preferences.txt and modify the appropriate lines to eliminate the green arrows...
-
Re: Screenshot of the month submission thread (June)
Just needs the top trimming off that one and it will be fine. :)

Terrific image epiphanes - welcome to the fora!
This is gonna be a close vote I think! Some really awesome submissions guys. :2thumbsup:

Re: Screenshot of the month submission thread (June)
Would the EB's perphaps consider at some point, gathering the monthly screen shot winners(and maybe a few other stunners) into a thread for a re-vote and the winner/s being used in the mod itself?
Just an idea!
-
Re: Screenshot of the month submission thread (June)
We are really overloading the load screens as it is now - I don't think we'll work them in that way unfortunately. We have some new ones for the next build, but we are somewhat committed to using any new ones within the borders of our current pattern.
Someone could make their own mini-mod for that though and post it for others to use.
-
Re: Screenshot of the month submission thread (June)
wow, that's amazing. some of you have far superior machines to mine, that much is quite clear whenever i look at these shots.

Re: Screenshot of the month submission thread (June)
I'm glad you all like it! There's something about elephants that just makes a battle look, well, epic. ~:)

Perhaps my favourite, the picture almost looks like a photo, the only thing stopping it being perfect IMO, is that the Nellies don't have the threat of the charge/much movement in them, which would of made it more dramatic!

The darker version has an atmosphere that gives the battle more depth (or as previously stated, a 'nitty and gritty' feel), whereas the brightened one allows easier viewing of what's going on in the battle but is not as aesthetically pleasing, imo. Looks good though, either way.
