Its good to see the boards are up again. What happened exactly?
The server crashed or so it said on the main page.
Must have been a nasty crash. The forums were already down yesterday evening at around 6.00 pm (GMT +1). Let's hope all is well now.
Allow me to cast a spell upon the board never to crash again. *speaks out some mumbo jumbo* Now for the spell onto the server. *mumbo jumbo* May they fare well and do us good.

It was a nasty crash indeed. But it seems as if the current database could be reanimated. :jumping:

And I thought Tosa traveled by plane to the server and fixed it manually... (that's why it took so long)
Rude question you don't have to answer, but are there backups kept somewhere independently away from the server just in case it ever reaches the can't be re-animated stage?Quote:

When the boards where back, there was something strange with the Backroom: when I went to the Tavern, the Backroom was there, but under 'last post' it said "never" and under posts/threads it mentionned '0'.

I noticed the 'Never' too but content was still present. Now I see no Backroom at all.

So, yesterday I had to find out the forums were down, was completely lost and had to sit around aimlessly for about 10mins until my peanut-sized brain got the idea that I could play Medieval 2 and hope my source of intelligence would be back up afterwards. It may be related to the crash or coincidence, it seems the door to the Backroom is removed from the database (partly updated during the crash, now it's found to be corrupt and dropped?). I'll make a Backup of the current database first, download that and then see to put the door back. Please report other glitches, a few things may be damaged during the crash.
I expect the Backroom to be back in 30 minutes.
Downloading backups now.
Something strange happened a few minutes ago. When I tried to go on the forums, I got a message from my browser (IE), saying that I was not authorised to view the page...
The boardindex where all forums are listed Andres? The cache was rebuilt to fix the Backroom, that may be a splitsecond glitch?
I got it when I clicked Kukri's link to the Watchtower thread about the Backroom. Afterwards, I tried a few times to visit the Guild index and I got the same message. After a minute or two, everything was back to normal.Quote:

No. I can exclude the BackroomWT (you renamed that one?), but under Tavern, I can only exclude Frontroom and Gameroom, there's no mention of the Backroom there.Quote:
