My real name is Jim. I live in the most boring place on earth...Toledo, OH. I have a 2 year old daughter, and my wife is 7 months pregnant. We couldn't resist to find out what it was early, and....IT'S A BOY! Yay, I get my son. :)
Right now, I work a shitty labour job that pays the bills and feeds my family, and my wife is in school to do that ultrasound stuff for babies (sonography technology is the technical name for it).
I also love vaginas.

My name is Rennie de Giorgio, and I live on a small island in the middle of the sea, The Republic of Malta, not so boring a place but since joining the EU, life has became tough. I work in a Power Station, as a Turbine Operator. Well I have done the greatest mistake of my life, as I am married with 3 daughters, age 9, 7 and 2. As my surname may suggest, yes it is Italian, and my grand grand father was a Scott, so now that is a heavy mixed blood lineage.
My greatest interest is ancient warfare, ancient civilizations, combat aircraft and Paleontology. As for vaginas, well I have 4 at home and not interested.

Hello all, I'm Jonathan, 20 going on 21, from Singapore. I'm in the army at the moment doing my two years of compulsory national service (a la Israel), but this ends in three months. After that I will be studying History at York University on a teaching scholarship, and returning to teach new young innocent generations about legions and Celtic soapmakers. I wish. My actual teaching syllabus will be all modern; stuff like the Cold War, World War II, and so on. So much more boring and tedious than the cut-and-dash lifestyle of the ancient world, where you could be skewered on a pike in a blink of an eye.
I've got a family of four, I'm the eldest son there, with a younger brother. Have been happily attached for a year and a quarter, and I converted my girlfriend over to EB early on, so that's a really big patch of common ground we now have.

I am an official mug holder at a pub that offer 132 different beers, and have enjoyed Sicillian and Portuguese wines that rarely come into the states. Yet, Brazilian Rum, cachaça gets me going every time.

Even if contradictory sometimes, it makes it fun to search out the answer for myself).

Though such an unbearable curse has it been that I have been born into a time when the art of riding is either unpracticed, even by those who equip themselves with the title of Horseman, or is restricted to the confines of "Grand Prize Riding", "L'Grand Prix du Dressage".. Dressage.
It is seen by all as simply and afternoon sport for the rich and nobility.
But I endeavour to bring knowledge of it to all!

I recommend it to all! And if you also are astonished by the Commentaries, then you must also read the Annals and Histories of Tacitus, and countless others.
I have not enough years of this life to study all those elements of our past that wish to be acknowledged!
Continuing, I have been, until a year ago, assosciated with games and other such trivial toys through school'mates', though I discarded all but Rome: Total War after I left school.
For although I found the original game frustratingly cartoon-like, (And by this I mean I found myself deterred from playing Pontus and Parthia because they were girly colours... ha ha ha ha!), I found one mod in particular that I did like.
Darthmod 8.0, I was disgusted by the name and by the figure of a space-age tyrant looming over ancient battlefields, I was however very taken by semi-realistic empires and, most of all, a campaign with so many provinces and cities, it truly felt like an ancient playground dynasty I could disperse my inner-child within on days where weather prevented and nights when I was too tired to absorb writings.
And on a particularly rainy fortnight , I found myself rather confined, and so spent some hours reading and listening to Django Reinhardt, and others creating a theoretical pre-arthurian British Empire.
It was when on every second battle the game 'crashed', that I got slightly bored, I also wished to learn how to effectively 'sack' a settlement without occupying it, as with my method it would simply revolt to the enemy and give them a terrifying army of golden chevrons.
This meant that I was completely thrown out of my immersion and soon found myself looking for a solution.
While looking at different forums to see how others would sack settlements, I found the mod 'Roma Surrectum', which announced itself completely dedicated to realism. I soon found it wasn't.
Which lead me to further searches which lead me to further discoveries, one of which was a summary of the Europa Barbarorum mod.
I'll be honest, I had been avoiding this mod because I noticed how many players and modification authors alike have claimed themselves brilliant scholars and go to extraordinary lengths to impress people with what they know, and usually try to do so in Latin.
One thing in common I have found with these authors and players, is that all of them have spent substantial time with readily available Latin-to-English dictionaries searching for a name they can place together with artistic effect.
As it turns out, they have only their labels to be proud of.
(I realise how many of you have names in Latin, please do not see this as a personal assault, I was in most parts referring to several mods).
However, the fates had brought me back to this title and lo and behold, I stumbled over the fact that you could create subject states in Europa Barbarorum, close enough to sacking for myself!
I suppose I must bring this introduction to an end soon enough.
Within that hour (Two days ago), I found how deeply detailed this modification was and the respectfully painful efforts the developers had attempted to show in their creation.
So, I started to download the latest version with a download manager.
I hope it isn't corrupted, as I am now just two hours away from recieving it, my inner-child is beaming with delight at the violent reconstructions that may be had!
I have read the entire discussion of the AI Progression thread over and over, as it is still raining from the fortnight mentioned. (In addition to the fact there is an epidemic of Equine Influenza here).
I am completely prepared with a clean installation of Rome: Gold, 'A guide to install EB', Darth Formations 8.0, and, as soon as I can download the latest flash player, the "AI Balancing Mod", which is irritatingly difficult to come by.

Name's Matt, from Brighton, England. Graduate Student in Philosophy from Kent Uni, Canterbury. Specialised in early Existential thought (Schopenhauer, Nietzsche and Kierkegaarde), because I hate Satre and his kind (though Camus has a great dark-side). I also did extensive reading in epistemological and metaphysical works of Descartes, the English Empiricists and, of course, Kant. And I'm also rather critical of liberal political philosophy and its uncritical approach to human-beings (bloody enlightenment project!).
I'm a cyclist at heart and in practice, and in lieu of a paid job I work for charity (and not just EB). I'm currently being influenced by the works of Ivan D. Illich, with regards the energy crisis, which has completely changed my view on the global warming issue and how to tackle it. Hate motorists, but only the faceless ones that pass me in cars when I'm cycling. Dislike humanists because of their complete disregard for science and their reliance on christian metaphysics. I'm barely tolerant of christianity, though only at a philosophical level.

I like generally everything which has to do with IT, and my goal is studying practical Informatic (crappy translation, in german it´s called praktische Informatik) and then i´ll try to join the BND (german intelligence service).
Besides computers and stuff I like history (except medieval age, it´s boring :/), girls (even if they dont like me), and hanging arround with friends.

I write for money. Otherwise I race dirt bikes. I ride mountain bikes, canoe, fly microlights, play paintball, scuba dive, spear fish, read, draw like a blind epileptic having a seizure, play board games (A&A Miniatures in particular) and I'm building myself a house to live in. But these days I mostly love getting behind my keyboard for a spot of Gaul-bashing, Roman style!
I grew up reading books with lavish illustrations of Roman fortifications, siege engines and squads of legionnaires methodically marching across the known world. They bashed Gauls, Spaniards, Greeks, Africans, Arabs and Asians before they got bashed by a bunch of bawdy Goths. On that note *takes a long draw on the MGD* ...Ponders vaginas... Nope. Dirt bikes are better.
I love the Total War concept and EB just kicked it up a couple of notches. What could be more fun than living the child's dreams of glorious, romantic, sanitised and ancient battle? Woot!

My name is Luis. I live in perhaps the most crooked politically not to mention perhaps the banana republic capital of The United States. In case that doesn't give it away. I'm in Miami, Florida. As it happens i'm also a humble civil servant of this aforementioned City in a capacity which i will leave undisclosed. The City itself is great ( well the sunny beachy side anyways ). Went to school here, lots to do, beautiful women everywhere. It's the politics of the place that ruin it...if you pay attention to such things, that is. I'm an athletically inclined individual and i love baseball and am a sick football fan. ( American Football that is ) Politically i would probably be described as consertative in nature, although that isn't always the case...but for the most part this holds true. I'm another strong cider lover, also found a pear cider recently which is rather delish. When my Sloe Gin and Rasberry Vodka are ready I'll drop by to see what you fine people think to my efforts.
Call me Bert, I've just turned 40yrs, so perphaps one of the more senior members here(I still think I'm 20 something, except my old war wound that tells me otherwise). I live in a small rural town in the south east of England called Ely with a Cathedral(technically making it a city).
I am married 17 yrs and have a 7yrs old boy(who thanks to EB knows abit about the old civilisations).
I have worked in various jobs since leaving school @15yrs all of which have been fine, but for the last 7yrs I have worked as a DNA sequencer. 4 days on 4 off, loads of free time and our house is detached(noise is good). And I'm lucky enough to get the detached study as my own turf.
EB/Totalwar is my principle hobby, although I like a good historical read, walks with the kid, films and the odd beverage with the mates. When I have the money another motorbike would be good, and I enjoyed my large dog and the walks in the countryside, but he died and I am taking a brake from the responsability of another, also as a family, travelling abroad is easier.

I think I´m allowed to drink stuff with max. 40% alcohol in it, dunno the exact limit now, but I know that I can drink beer and mixed stuff (all those alcopops), and with 18 you can drink everything you want, but if your parents allow to, you can do so with 16.
My father doesnt care that much, cause he knows that I watch how much I´m drinking (never got drunk and I´m proud of it).
And at the stores (exept BIG companys like wal-mart) they dont care aswell, so there are always ways to get your daily bottle of whatever, even if you´re not allowed to (it´s funny to see those 12/13yr old kids which think they are cool cause they drink some beer-cola mix which taste like pee from a monkey).

I've finished my countryside practice (mandatory) and so I got drafted in the army (also mandatory). I'm lucky enough to have traveled abroad widely visiting several countries (19 to be precise). I've been practicing judo since I was 11. I used to live in Athens but now I'm stationed in the north of Greece. Once I'm out of service I'll start my internship in invasive radiology. I find your post especially interesting, because I'm Greek, although I was born in America....my grandfather (who was shot in Greek Town in Detroit) was from Crete (he's actually buried there now), and before that my family was from the Athens area.

Have a ton of interests. Ranging from history, physics, literature, to name just those I like to read about. Can read 16 hours a day, without break and without losing sanity. People think I am insane when I do all kinds of complicated math problems for fun.
Playing EB not too much in South Africa (laptop-dependent) but before that, I managed to play quite a few campaigns to an end; mostly of the Hellenic factions.

I've always been interested in history, in the antiques especially and also in the 18th and 19th century. I'm looking forward to ETW. What I also like are plains, airports and the whole aviation stuff. There are no machines in the world more beautiful than aircrafts. Besides that I take courses for Spanish language here at my local education system. I'm studying it for six years now but I'm still unable to use it properly. ~;)
Besides of that I'm totally addicted to EB. I like it especially from midnight to 4 or 5 in the morning. I like sleeping from 5 to 2 in the afternoon if university allows. Why do people want to get up at 8 in the morning? *shivers* I think mankind is just stupid.
I hope I can be a writer one day don't have to do a tedious job. Better don't take away my illusions.

I am the drunk in the corner of the bar, who has been through hell and back, not in a physical sense like going to war or the like, but one who has started a business, and failed twice, went through bankrupty and a foreclosure on my home, one who is not so happy in his life now, one who is 38 years old and just feels like giving up half the time. Married and has a son, who he loves dearly, not so happy in marriage though. Probably older then most here but still not embarrassed. I started playing video games with pong back in 1977 when I was like 8 years old. I then advanced to Intellivision and Atari, though Intellivision Football was my favorite. I have always played baseball in many different formats like playstation and PC, I am a really great fan of EB, I check this forum out every day and look forward to every post and update.
I am a happy person, just gone through a rough patch in life, a little bitter right now. But I'm sure things will get better.
Don't mean to ruin the post but if anyone is going through rough times right now I might be able to help, or if anyone is thinking of starting a business I could probably help out.

Its got an asian supremest that honestly makes me wish I could borrow the time machine and seriously mess up Asia during the early 1900s (like nuclear destruction . I'm sorry but this guy pisses me off sooo....bad) just so he would shut the hell up . Its got a myriad of other ****ed(can we say the f-bomb?) up users as well .
I will admit I get involved in some of the debauchery but I do it cause I'm more trolling then anything . Some people there are serious . I know a few that would lynch our resident Roman fanboy(zara something) cause of his political beliefs .
