Changes to factions in the next version

Which factions will change most and which factions will change the least in the next EB version? I am asking this because I want to start a new campaign but do not want to play a campaign with a faction only to see that it is much cooler in the new version. I know that Pahlava and Hayasadan will get major changes, so even though I want to play them I will leave them to the next version. The factions I am particularly interested in are the Getai, Sabyn, Sauromatae, Koinon Hellenon and Baktria as I would want to start a campaign with one of these. Can someone tell me if there are some really cool changes in some of these that would justify waiting for the next version?

I understand if the team is reluctant to answer this kind of question as many things in the new version will probably change before it is released, but if I play a faction in this EB version, I will probably never play it on the new one, as I simply do not have the time to play multiple campaigns with the same faction if I ever want to play with all interesting factions. As it is, I do not think I will ever have time to play with all the factions that I would like. :shame:

P.S. I am not asking what the particular changes are, even if that would be interesting to know. Simply how much the factions will change/remain the same.:inquisitive:

What is the next version, how close is it to becoming an official, fully developed version, and.. well, a rather expected question I suppose, when am I getting it?
I can only hope it is a patchable version!

EB is not a beta version. Do not get confused with our version numbering. 0.81aV2 is certainly playable, and more stable than most mods well into their 2.x numbers.

Thanks for clarifying that EB is an open-ended project, the present state is quite satisfying, and I'm most enjoying my Punic campaign, but I'm interested too in what main changes are planned as far as factions are concerned

They must be going through some rough patches in the EB factory right now. Foot is rather...gruff today. Gruffer than normal, if that's possible. Hmm. This does not bode well for 0.9...

At least we will include the bartix elite infantry.

And the turtle-mounted uranus death rays.

Yeah, those Bartix are really hard to find reliable information about so we've had to postpone 0.9 several times already. We've dispatched an expedition to Atlantis, where we hope to recover important artifacts that will answer a lot of our questions. Unfortunately their transport didn't handle the depths very well, so it broke down and they will probably return in some years after building an underwater teleportation gate. We hope it won't flood our server room when they come back, or it could be further delayed.

The lengths the EB team will go to to get the facts. We're like some investigative journalist.

Just in case anyone didn't catch our preview. It's a bit old, but details a lot of the new faction. It's somewhat inaccurate, of course, seeing as we're still waiting for our Atlantis expedition.

Well, I guess I shouldn't have asked the question in the first place. Will just have to guess which factions are the most "safe" to play in this version. Anyway, even though you get this all the time, thanks for a great mod. Possibly my favourite game ever (vanilla didn't come close to that, its probably outside top20!;). Just wish I had more time to play...

Here, I'll just leak the secret. Factions with changes that you'll want to try out after the next release: Hayasdan, Pahlav, Romani, Sweboz, and maybe Arche Seleukia and SofitBinSofit SofitSofit (Carthage).

EDIT: You might want to replay Arverni, Aedui, or Casse, too.
EDIT2: Saka or Baktria might be fun too. And Epieros will have some changes.

Now I can start a new campaign feeling a little bit safer :beam: . I almost think the next one will be Baktria. Or Getai. Or Koinon Hellenon. Or Sabyn. Oh, crap, I can't decide! They're all so good!

Edit: Didn't see your edits MarcusAureliusAntoninus. Well, I think I will leave Baktria to the next version then also. I probably won't have time to play more than one or two campaigns before the next version is out anyway (even if it takes years). But on the other hand, smaller changes do not bother me, so I might chose Baktria anyway.

You might want to hold off on Saba too. Not only will they have the map change, which buys you tons of time before AS and Ptl start marching on you, but they have had some attention given to them recently...
