One thousand and one (and more!) ways to kill a Roman.
Roman haters RISE UP!
There is something appealing, something appauling, something what I must say to you all, WE HATE ROMAIOI, DEATH TO THE ROMANI, SCORGE THEM ALL!
BUT.
Downright killing them is an act of the barbaroi. We are civillized sons of Hellas and Makedonia! We kill romans WITH STYLE (and delight).
Brothers, let us begin our multitude of suggestions of killing those Italiote Barbaroi. =]

Re: One thousand and one (and more!) ways to kill a Roman.
But why do you hate them? Because they conquered your pet favourite faction in antiquity and took a few slaves?
I'll bet your pet favourite faction was conquering and causing misery and slavery and committing attrocities way before Rome was ever more than just the city itself, just not on quite a grand scale as those cunning (and superior) fellows from Italy.

Re: One thousand and one (and more!) ways to kill a Roman.
I have a bad feeling about this.:sweatdrop:

Re: One thousand and one (and more!) ways to kill a Roman.
All factions are loved by someone and hated by someone else. I know there are many "Roman-Haters" around here, but now it's getting out of control. I don't love them too, but you're starting a hounding here, that's just pathetic.
If this stupid thread is not going to be closed I will create a "One thousand and one ways to kill a Greek / Celt / Parthian ....." etc.
Nothing personal against you, maybe like me, you also have a bad day today :wall:

Re: One thousand and one (and more!) ways to kill a Roman.
I personally has no hatred for Romans....
But the best way to kill them is play Epeiros, and lead the Phyrrhos Akikades for conquering them.......
OR....
Try to teleport some stack of Seleucid/Ptolemaid army right into the countryside their beloved Rome..... I once do that when I play Baktria.... to keep the AS in peace with me.... but end up as the Seleucid conquer Italy and drive the Romans into Extinction...

Wrong, at least according to the "Which faction do you hate the most?" poll Bactria and Hayasdan are being loved by all of us. ^^
Someone, please, lock this thread.
(< neither hates nor likes the romans or any other people. They're just a faction to play or an enemy to defeat, yes, even my favorite faction, the Pahlava)

Re: One thousand and one (and more!) ways to kill a Roman.
I know there's a joke in here but a lot of people aren't getting it which just makes it uncomfortable for the most of us.
So, boys... let's take this outside

Re: One thousand and one (and more!) ways to kill a Roman.
I haven't seen someone who doesn't get it is a joke yet! Leave it be!

AW: One thousand and one (and more!) ways to kill a Roman.
We all love to argue about that topic. Of course everybody also know that we, the Roman haters, are right.
IMO it is better to have one treat for this "argumentation", so we don't have to start it in every new treat that has something to do with Romani and Greeks.
And to all the Romani-fanboys: Take it easy, its just for fun. And if you really think about that topic you will see, that we are right.
The Romani are just a fake of Greek culture. Even EB accepted that for a long time (Greek interface for SPQR):clown:.
Ceterum censeo Romam esse delendam
At topic: I think its better to kill them as fast as possible. Its better to play KH without phalangitai as to accept that they are allowed to stay alive one round longer.

Re: One thousand and one (and more!) ways to kill a Roman.
Why don't you learn from your friend Pyrrhos? Roma cannot be subjected. The spirit of the she-wolf lives in the city. It is in the wind that whisles though the Servian walls, in the earth of the Seven hills, in the water of the Tiber. And in the hearts of Her Men! Roma cannot fall! Roma Victrix!

Re: One thousand and one (and more!) ways to kill a Roman.
Nothing against a bit of rivalry here and there, but don't you think this is getting really childish now?

We are just having fun! And who do you call childish? I would accept appology only if it is accompanied by lots of candyyyyyyy or balooooooons or a X-men figurine!

Re: One thousand and one (and more!) ways to kill a Roman.
I'm at loss on choosing between facepalm and headdesk. =_=;;;
Back OT, in my last campaign (pontos Alex.exe ), I bribed Messana from the the roman scum and gifted it to the kardonechoi (sp). They ended up sending ship after ship of troops from everywhere to sicily, and booted them barbaroi out of Italy. Oh joy!
Another good reason why one should use Alex.exe =P

Re: One thousand and one (and more!) ways to kill a Roman.
Once used a diseased spy to spread the plague to all the cities in italy, much chaos ensued.:skull::skull:
Men with colds were the atomic bombs of antiquity!

I apologize. :shame:
Although perhaps you should have named the thread "One thousand and one [...] to kill the Romans" to avoid misunderstandings.

Re: One thousand and one (and more!) ways to kill a Roman.
I don't have anything against romans, but sence this is a 100 and 1 ways to kill a roman:
we can kill them all Arab style: herd them into a river valley and drown them all!:laugh4: (just like Khalid Ibn al-waleed did at yarmouk)

It doesn't mean they are loved, it just means they are too irrelelvant for people to hate THE MOST:beam:. That doesn't mean they aren't hated!

Re: One thousand and one (and more!) ways to kill a Roman.
To stay on topic, I think at the end of a pike is always a good way.

Baktria is far from irrelevant! I am playing a campaign with them right now (H/M) and I am doing quite well, though it is a thorough challenge keeping your units strategically placed to fend off AS and Saka stacks while you build up your economy to produce field-worthy armies. (Persian archer spam FTW!)
Perhaps its just because a human is playing them; but they could gobble up the whole eastern half of the AS once the ball got rolling - and that's no easy task! I think Baktria is a golden little gem waiting to be found if players would give them a chance, rather than shun them as inferior, successor wannabes.
