So, i have almost completed a campaign as Shimazu...I have one province left (Owari) and i go in with overwhelming force to make sure i win. I also attack with my very old Daimyo. I figure if the old man dies, i got 3 heirs, whopitty dooo...So, i let him get in on the rough and tumble, and he dies. I run out of time, since i have steady reinforcements coming in at a steady stream. I lose due to lack of time, and when i go back out to big map...i got peasant revolts out the whazoo and Imagawa has suddenly reappeared.
He seems to be leading these revolts. He has been gone for YEARS!!!
This has happened to me twice now...anyone else??

You really weren't ready for the campaign to be over with anyway, were you Ratta?
Hee Hee Hee!
Can't say that it's happened to me yet, then again I haven't been doing much playing in the campaign anyway. I've got several going, just haven't taken the time to get that far yet. I also go heavy on the Shinobi's. May want to try that if you haven't already.

Often what may happen is that a clan will reappear in a province that is/was designated as Ronin. Usually it is confined to clans that still had an heir yet to be 'born' of great importance (check the new Imagawa daimyo, is it Tokugawa?)
You can expect roughly a 200% drop in loyalty when a daimyo dies, so it really does pay to have shinobi in every province; I used to not follow this last part, but now do because of situations similar to yours.

Thanks Soly, at least we can agree on the game heh heh...I am going to try NOT letting my Daimyo die. I am gonna stick him in a castle and let him rot...
Matter of fact, i am going to leave work early (like right now) and go do it!!!
Obake-i will be using the heavy on the shinobi bit from now on!!!

yeah. when that happens it's a real bitch..
have you ever gotten a revolt in EVERY SINGLE province? that happened to me twice in one campaign (i save-loaded.. figured it had to be a bug....big time).. i have had clans come back from the dead.. i thought it was cool... keeps you on your toes

"dead" clans won't come back as long as there are no ronin provinces; so you won't see a clan reemerge, for example, from one of your own loyal territories. What often happens in this case, is there's a rebellion in an undefended province, which will result in an automatic ronin province. this in turn transforms into the revived clan. If you get this a lot it's usually the result of overly quick expansion and/or unnaturally fast enemy daimyo deaths.
