taxes are only given and calculated every autumn right?
so why can't you keep it on low tax for the other 3 seasons and just before utumn become a pur bastard and put taxes at 125%.
you get the big money and your provinces won't revolt after just 1 season.then immediately put it back to low again till next autumn.
i have'nt done this'but this would work surely??
so 3 seasons low and autumn very high then 3 seasons low again.

Yep this cheat/tactic/tip does work, just be sure to remember to low the tax rate after autumn, otherwise you get a lot of grump peasants.

then this needs to be patched.
as soon as you raise your level to 125% there should be an immediate sharp drop in peasant loyalty and even if changed quickly back to low'the peasants should have long memories.

hehe... I mentioned this a while back, only to learn it was old news. It's considered as 'cheating' by purists. It's also a pain when you forget to lower the taxes and you find, 3 seasons later, that the peasants are pissed! I don't even bother anymore. You'll find that after a while you're looking for things that actually make it harder on you in order to provide competition.
For a challenge, type .conan. from the strategic map. This allows you to play as the ronin. When I play them I don't permit attacks on any clan that hasn't attacked first. For the record, I've never won, but it's a lot of fun.
