When do you get some?
Marian Era. (Or bribe enemy equiptment.)
Didn't think of bribing as I never use it.
Thanks Marcus.
Why does it take that long to get them? Surely the Roman army used them before that.
Yes, but they didn't build them. They didn't have the expertise. They stole them from their conquests (they found loads in syracuse for example).Quote:

IIRC the Polybian Romans can recruit them in their regional MICs in certain Greek cities.Quote:

I tried that with Syracuse, built a type IV Govt. But no Arty.Quote:

you know you need like the highest level academy building for them, right?
as for spawning after capturing a city, why would you need them after you captured the city? in this period, Roman siegework consisted of circumvallation and earthworks, ramps, etc. Unfortunately we cant model this in the game.
Academy? Do you mean mirc?
No, Academy "Academia" is what I named it in the description.
Well, someone said that before Marius, Romans only got artillery by stealing it from captured cities; therefore, why not "gift" victorious Romans with an appropriate amount of equipment once they gain control of the right cities?Quote:

What a dick.
The Romans "can build seige equiptment in the Polybian Era". However, you need a Factional MIC and you can't build Factional MICs outside of Italy in the Polybian Era. So, no seige equitment in Polybian Era.
Can't you make seige equipment in Taras with the highest level Native MIC?
Getting the equipment would be only part of the problem. The Romans would also need people to operate and maintain them, as they didn't have that expertise. In the second century BC, this effectively meant Greeks, as they were the only people with a tradition in military engineering. Hence I thought siege equipment should be recruitable in the regional MICs.Quote:

Merc siege unit's would be cool.
