Just thought I'd post a thread asking everyone what their favourite game soundtracks are.
I personally loved both Fallout 3 and Bioshocks soundtracks, they really captured the sort of pre 1960's feeling really well.

Just thought I'd post a thread asking everyone what their favourite game soundtracks are.
I personally loved both Fallout 3 and Bioshocks soundtracks, they really captured the sort of pre 1960's feeling really well.
I liked Mass Effect and perhaps the first or second Tombraider and MAFIA.
I second the Mass Effect soundtrack. Also thought the Company of Heroes 'track was really good. Always liked orchestra music and listen to some tracks from EUIII, Victoria and Cossacks II.:grin3:
Vampire: Bloodlines was pretty good.
World at War's Russian levels had a great soundtrack, especially the last two. Fallout 3 was great.
Hitman:Blood Money had a nice soundtrack.
Europa Universalis III, Medal of Honour Allied Assault, The Witcher and ofcourse, M2TW.
I regularly listen to both the Deus Ex and Fallout 1/2 soundtracks, those were well worth the money. The Brotherhood of Steel background music is my favorite of the FO series (love those air raid sirens), and go ahead and make fun of me but The Synapse (Hong Kong ambient) is my favorite from Deus Ex. I also have the Diablo 2 ambient music which I very much liked. The Mechwarrior 2 game also had wonderful music that I feel was frequently overlooked for it's time. Mass Effect also had great music. I'm finding that I very much like the Final Fantasy 7: Crisis Core music as well.
Those were the ones that came to mind immediately.
:balloon2:
Total Annihilation and Warlords III had fantastic soundtracks.
I think Command and Conquer must've been one of the first with a proper movie-like soundtrack? It had that Mechanical Man song! :laugh4:
And I'll put in a word for Evil Genius, just for its OOT bombastic main menu music.
Sacrifice has the best game music ever.

Now that gets the adrenaline going.

Final Fantasy and Street Fighter.
Descent 2 has my all time favorite sound track from a game. I haven't played that game in a decade but I still listen to the music every so often.
:egypt:
Metal Gear Solid soundtracks and Europa Barbarorum.
Final Fantasy VII.
The only gaming OST I have in my music lib. Just so epic and deep and everything.
Shogun Total War
Birth of the Federation
Medieval Total War
Klingon Academy
Superb music, all of them. :2thumbsup:

Ghost Recon series
Gears of War by Kevin Riepl
Gears of War 2 by Steve Jablonsky
Armed Assault
Fallout 1 & 2
And many, many more!
Original score of the year for 2008 was either Gears of War 2 or MGS Guns of the Patriots.
Music in games, game scores and soundtracks are still ignored heavily for example in reviews for some reason.
Final Fantasy VII and IX had awesome soundtracks.
Eternal Darkness soundtracks are in my Ipod just for the freak factor.
Heroes of Might and Magic V
Magic and Mayhem : Arcanes (soundtracks by Afro Celt Sound System)
Baldur's Gate. The main theme is quite possibly the greatest musical score for any game. The Morrowind main theme follows shortly behind.
Homeworld 2 has a pretty interesting soundtrack.
Hi Tib hows things? I`m gonna go for the Halo series for all time best game soundtrack, unbeatable. Followed closely by 4 others, Homeworld series, Freelancer, Mass Effect and Fallout 3.
Btw, mate, I`m going to add you to my XBL friends list as soon as I`m back on live if thats cool with you.
Alright mate long time no see or speak. Everything is good thanks. How's things at your end? Hope everything is going OK with the lady and life's treating you well. Hopefully it's all sound.
I would have to concur with your choice of the halo soundtrack . Shame the game never quite lived up to it. ~;)
Anyway go right ahead with the add it will be nice to catch up with you after all this time.Take care mate.
Soul Reaver. Ozar Midrashim, the intro music, was fantastic.
And I've never been able to shake the Dungeon Keeper Intro.
There's been mention of Baldur's Gate, Morrowind, The Witcher, and Deus Ex. I feel inclined to agree with all.
I've posted this before, but this is a good thread for it so I'll do so again.
PLAY! A Video Game Symphony
I went to this about a year and a half ago and it was excellent. I very much encourage people to go, as it's a lot of fun. The upcoming venues are in Copenhagen, Stockholm, Oslo, Dayton (Ohio), and Winnipeg.
Yes, the original Baldur's Gate Main Theme is quite good, pity it's a shameless ripoff of Basil Poledouris' "Anvil of Crom" from Conan the Barbarian...

Anvil of Crom. This version is especially fun, it sports Mako's voiceover that opened the film...

For originality's sake I prefer the main theme to Baldur's Gate 2...

Age of Conan and GTA Vice city easily takes the price for me.
Age of Conan for that the music fits the game perfectly(mean really, it's spot on) and Vice City is well it's just so damn cool.
For modern feel: Hitman series
For nerdgasm musical experience: World of Warcraft
Though I have few tracks I like in other games such as MTW for one, I can't think tracks I don't like in Hitman series and WoW.
.
MTW :2thumbsup:
Emperor: RotMK
Sea Dogs
