Problems in RTI chapter 3
Ok, I'm in chapter 3 of RTI, I need to make an alliance with France but how? If I select the diplomacy button, they don't accept the alliance petition, and controlling only one territory with that small army is pretty hard.
Any idea?
P.S. Exist any way a allied nation send you troops or attack the common enemy somehow?
Re: Problems in RTI chapter 3
Are they considered "Very Friendly" or just "Friendly"? If just "Friendly", try giving them a state gift (the 1 that is 2500) and then it should goto "Very Friendly" and then request an alliance. That should work.
Although, I am doing it w/o an alliance.
Re : Problems in RTI chapter 3
They start at very friendly but won't accept the alliance anyway.
Send them a state gift (you make a crapload of money with Boston, so you might wait one or two turns), and they will likely change their mind. Anyway, that's pretty much useless, the best the will do is start attacking Britain trade lines. I haven't seen them sending any landforce yet.
Where's Lafayette when you need him?
Re: Problems in RTI chapter 3
They agreed after I took Maine. I also offered military access (so they could land troops, which they haven't done), some tech exchanges, and a little bit of money for a few turns.
All they've done to help is attack the Royal Navy so far. Paging General Rochambeau ...
Re: Problems in RTI chapter 3
I was never able to get them to accept an alliance; I just won the War of Independence without them. It was a little tough at first, but after I took Maine and New York from the British and got some troops positioned in Maine to protect my towns from raiders it didn't work out too badly. I did have to leave New York harbor blockaded for a while by a large fleet of British ships, though.
Re: Problems in RTI chapter 3
On RT3,would you be able to share,or give some tips on how you did this? I've been haviNg major troubles with the Iroquois entering the war on the side of the British, while I'm busy with expelling raiders from my ports/farms/schools,laying siege to bsoton and taking it without having to fight a major battle, which is a possible bug,as I have boston garrisoned by a few milita regiments, after i took falmouth.
Re: Problems in RTI chapter 3
Well, after the battle of Bunker Hill, I had Washington and his small army plus the garrison in Boston. I combined both and marched immediately north to take Maine and the remnants of the Brit field army. After doing so, I left some of the troops in the capitol of Maine to keep order while it stabilized and moved the rest back in between Boston and Falmoth(?) to cover them. A couple of turns later, the entire garrison of Albany came out to raid my towns in southern New England, so I killed them with the field army then took Albany.
The Iroquois did not enter the war against me at this time. I did some dancing in the north until I learned how to cover the Maine towns against raiders from Acadia and New France, then built up the field army to max strength, and then took Philadelphia from the British. Once I'd rebuilt the army from the casualties I took I shifted north to go against Acadia while leaving a large garrison force behind, and the Iroquois started building up on the border. Philadelphia could recruit 4-5 units per turn so I bulked up quickly and left a half stack sitting near the border blocking their route in.
I don't know if this kept them out of it, but they didn't declare war until after I'd taken Acadia from the British and was going after Quebec, by which time I had a full field army in the north as well as a full army in the south plus a half stack of extras.
