Yeah, but there's a couple of mitigating factors here:
1.) The Japanese high command interfered and "altered" his battle plan for Midway....and it wasn't for the better.
2.) We knew the Japs were coming (since we'd broken their codes).
I'm not saying Yamamoto actually deserves more votes than Nimitz, but I can understand why people might feel that he does.

Well, I hope he was getting votes for The Pearl Harbor strike as well as the "run wild" period from 12/15/41 through 5/15/42.

Merely suggesting that voting for Isoruku-san was almost certainly NOT because of the Midway campaign, but the earlier stuff. I too think Nimitz was better.
Won't matter much with this crowd. Nelson will solidly outpoint De Ruyter in the final.
