Hi,
These are just my suggestions on how to improve the game and cut down on some of the frustration. I have tried in all cases to be as constructive as I can. I would appreciate others thoughts. Here goes;
1. The ability when starting a battle to choose your 16 units and then choose the order of your re-inforcements. This should fix the problem of getting 15 archers with your Daimyo or lots of horses when defending on a bridge or not getting those Nag's when you are attacking a bridge.
2. Make port attacks similar to a bridge attack. i.e. give the defender the advantage as the attacker comes up a beach.
3. Create your own formations and then be able to save them.
4. Ability to combine units when the total is greater than 60 (or whatever the max is) with leftovers. i.e. Combine a unit of 45 and one of 20 giving the result of one unit of 60 and one of 5.
5. Get the A.I. to combine their units. Please!!!
6. Make alliances stronger. The longer the alliance has lasted the harder it should be to break. Or at least take some honour from a Daimyo who breaks it.
7. Please allow me to kill the emissary. Especially the Portugese. Nothing personal to any of the Portugese on the forum http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif
8. Allow the building chain to be smarter. If you choose the build large castle you should be able to put in the cue to build a horse dojo etc.
9. Allow units to enter a castle without having to be led by the hand. How hard can it be to find a gate?
10. Allow grouping of Shinobi and other units for ease of movement.
Well thats it. I feel better just getting it out. Thanks for anyone who made it through.

Kiwi, I agree with your opinions. Some of them I think was in Erado San's Question and Answer series...and I think no.4 will be address in the ex pack.

Hi Kiwi:
Personally I think the alliance in Sengoku was particularly weak, so not too much complaint of weak alliance from the game setting.
But I cannot agree with your more on others. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif (especially the stupid castle siege)

Very good points. I would especially like to see grouping of Shinobi, all that moving individual units around does my nut. And I would love to see the option to kill anyone or anything that enters the Daimyo's court. Hehe, cheeky Portugese man can 'take my gold' once he's had an appointment with the executioner...

And the option to order your Adviser to commit seppuku just to test his loyalty hehehe.

I agree with all suggestions, they were very good. I guess with the Expansion already finished and the patch well on its way, however, whatever EA deemed important is already in the works and whatever they chose not to include won't be included this late into the game. (Though of course I wish there were a direct way EA asked the PLAYERS (and therefore the customers) what sort of additions THEY would like to see. I mean, would it be THAT hard to set up some polls on the totalwar.com website asking "What addition would you most like to see in the next patch?")
I agree that Sengoku alliances were weak, but they were usually tactical conveniences. For example, two daimyo who were usually enemies would make temporary alliances to cooperate against a mutual enemy. (Case in point being Takeda Shingen making an agreement with Tokugawa Ieyasu after Imagawa Yoshimoto's death-- that Tokugawa invade and take Totomi while Takeda invaded and took Suruga. He correctly guessed that the weakened Imagawa clan would not be able to cope with this dual threat). Therefore, the most important thing I'd like to see changed about alliances is the option for a joint attack against a province. (This would really help when you need to dislodge a computer opponent who has a 16-unit army holding states like Shinano or Hida).

Re: original question #1 about sequencing the arrival of your troops in a battle. I seem to get the troops I want by dropping them into the province one at a time in the order I want them. Form up my army of 16, drop it, then drop reinforcements one at a time in the order I want them. Does anyone else have an opinion on this, or am I hallucinating?

Yep, that works. You just can't esc out to save the game. If you do, it forgets what order you brought your troops in. However, I think you can quick save without ruining it.

Thanks to "ishikawa2" for the advice. I will try that tonight. I liked the comment on how hard could it be to set up something on TotalWars site asking for suggestions. Since we are the ones using the game you would think it would be a good idea.
Hopefully they are reading these and actually taking some notice.
I actually forgot until I was playing last night of a real sore point. When you send in all of your troops in to attack and the computer sends some troops from the province you are invading back in to your province!! Does that hurt or what. I have reached the point where before I do a major campaign I hit 'Ctrl S' just in case.
