A Testament to EB's excellence
So I am a graduate level accounting student scheduled to graduate this May. However, I found out I hadn't taken a humanities course (part of the core curriculum at my university), so I decided, "Hey, what the heck, I'll try and get credit through taking a placement exam because I really didn't want to hang around 2 more months to take 1 course. Needless to say there are not a lot of courses to choose from, but being a history enthusiast I decided to take History of Western Civilization from Antiquity to 1648. This is where being a player of EB for several years comes into play. I can honestly say that although it obviously wasn't the majority of the exam, I did not miss a question from the era covered by EB largely due to the excellence of the history in the mod. So EB team, thanks for helping me graduate! For this I give EB its due and would like to further thank the team for all the effort they put into making not just the best mod I've played, but the best game. And hey, who says video games can't be educational?
Re: A Testament to EB's excellence
Well, IIRC the EB installation disclaimer says that the EB player agrees to futher improve his historical skills...
BTW: congratulations!
And yes - the EB as a mod and its team mebers do really provide a whole heck of hisotrical data and accuracy.
Re: A Testament to EB's excellence
Hey, congratulations :2thumbsup: :2thumbsup:
Indeed, EB is a benchmarking game. In distant future, no one will go to school, but learn through games... and EB will enter the history books as a masterpiece of pioneering (which is positively ironic, since EB is about history).
Therefore rejoice. We're all part of history in the making.

Technically, they'll have the curriculum downloaded into their brain implants when they're 4.:juggle2:

Well, I'm about two weeks away from a teaching unit of three weeks on Alexander and the Hellenistic military where my students will be in the lab on EB for nearly two weeks solid. :2thumbsup: Glad to hear it helped you out Ardri! We sincerely appreciate comments like yours.
Re: A Testament to EB's excellence
Hey what a great post! This mod and the forum community have taught me a lot as well. Additionally, I have been compelled to research many different things from individual cities, to cultures and kingdoms. Great historical simulation, and fun!
