I've run into this problem a few times, don't know if any of you got this, too.
When I finished a battle fighting a quite nicely ranked enemy general (e.g. 4 or so), I could really see numerous flags carried by his unit. However, when I read the logfile later on, 0 was assigned to the enemy general rank. I don't know if this is becasue he got killed in the battle, so the later substitute that rout away replaced his status.

Yes i saw this as well in widda's log file reader...
The enemy had an hon6 naginata but in the log file it was shown as hon0.
Strange...but true!

Maltz:
pulling up the logfiles with wordpad, think I saw the same thing. Also notice that the troop counts in the logfile summaries are based on "default unit size x number of units" not actual troop totals.

Come to think of it, have seen it done by the logfiles wrong and right on the enemy Taisho's.

Today I just got my daimyo ranked 0 too! http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/tongue.gif
It will also be much better if we can have both "initial status" and "final status" in the logfile.

Yup, I think the log file reader only shows the final honour, not the initial honour. So, if all of the unit's men were killed in the battle, they will have honour 0 in the end.

Hecose is correct -- honor goes to 0 if all troops are killed in unit, and then this shows in the log file. Also as units gain and lose honor during the battle, this too will be reflected on the FINAL stats, which is what the log file uses.
