Update on TW teams - Mid 2017

More news regarding the TW teams working on all of the titles.

Three interesting tidbits:

• more content for Attila! DLC
• historical team working on it
• expansion pack DLC to be released probably this year

More historical content to be released, and while I speculate it's Attila, it can be something else too. Rome 2?

We’ve been thinking a lot about how our major releases cover eras, our character-based follow-ups span the events of iconic lives (like Napoleon, or Attila), but that we are also interested in flashpoint moments. Those shorter, intense periods where events could have unfolded in any direction, dramatically changing the course of history in only a handful of months or years.


‘Fall of the Samurai’ being based on the Boshin War is a great example of this, and we are planning this new title to be similar in intent. It will also arrive before the next major historical title that the team above are working on.

Handful of months? I'm interested to see how that short of a time period changes the TW game dynamics. And what time period it might be.

I think Vikings covers a longer period & the quote specifically mentions short time periods.

Generall guys don't take the historical teams too seriously. CA has used it as a PR trick, so its reliability is doubtful to say the least.

Looking forward to new content for (I'm hoping) Rome 2. Though it could also be for Attila. Probably not Shogun 2 with that concept art. :-)

The standalone "Flashpoint" game also sounds interesting.

I'd also love to see this. Viking Invasion is still one of my favourite Total War campaigns.

Edit: hmm that chainmail looks more Rome era actually.

It's a Rome 2 era type art, which suggests more Rome DLC.

Does he look perhaps Germanic rather than Gallic?
Some kind of campaign around Teutoburg Forest?

Hah and I knew I'd seen that shield symbol, its the Cherusci symbol.

I'm hoping for some more Attila content but unit-based, some factions need more units :book:
