Dear Lz3, would you kindly upload some tweaked files to make it possible to use your great mod pack without DS´s 0.7 roman skins, I would be most grateful if ever you get the time.
I have tried myself and it works in SP, at least with the evocatae and centurions, haven´t got imperial reforms yet, but as soon as I try to change the EDU in the MP backup folder I crash when trying to run the MP exe unless I use the SP EDU there instead which is a shame as I cannot check if the imperial legionnaires are back to normal as they should and cannot really stage battles as I would like to.

OrlaLehmann, I´m also using the mod pack without the old legionary skins, PM me and I´ll send you my edited files and we´ll give Lz3 a well-deserved break.

I find the new ones a lil bit big headed (A LOT!) when I put them by side of the other units hehehe :sweatdrop:
I'm starting to contemplate the idea of adding the new Cohors reformata skins :P

I don't know if it was ever solved in the original City Mod but vanilla's reform (March of Time) isn't triggered when Rome becomes huge. Playing as Baktria it's a real shame as I'd like to use those lovely Hetairoi Kataphractoi!
Anyway, I'm not sure I like how the roman allied legion part work (I would highly prefer having separate "italic" hastati/princeps/triari units rather than having samnites and bruttians everywhere) but your pack surely is great as it makes very simple to play EB with some of the most important mods! Very good work!

Oh, but I like both the new and the old very much, but having played extensively with both I must swear to the new which I find, although a bit bulky and not made in the exactly same style as most EB units, to be the best looking units in the game, the cohors imperatoria and centurions that is. The quality of their textures look like something from between EB and EB II; their knees, elbows, faces and hands are better made than anything I´ve seen before in any mod of RTW and the same credit can be given to all of their equipment, each piece is beautifully rendered, obviously with the greatest attention to historical accuracy, and their helmets ( the plumes stands out as actually resembling hair for once and the metal looks just gorgeous and very realistic ) and swords especially are, again, the best I´ve ever seen from the RTW engine.

WAD or a minimodpack BUG? -> my pahlava client kingdoms generals (autoborn) has never got "client ruler" trait

A common bug with the Client Ruler script and therefore not caused by this mini mod, you will find a lot of threads I´m sure by searching for it, else take a look in the bug forum.
A solution to your problem would be to add the trait manually by the console command give_trait "Firstname middlenameLastname" Type4Governor. Then you just have to find the name of your character in the descr_names file in the EB/data folder, be aware that most names can be found in a few variants, for example with a capitalized letter attached.

it's probably something related to the client ruler script as skandinav said :sweatdrop:

Ok, question time:
Tried to install it before but ended up putting the wrong files in the wrong folders, so just ended up reinstalling everything. Used this one since it seemed the most 'complete' version (hard to tell which link is meant for who!). Anywho, copied, pasted everything, changed the command line and when I fired the game up I can see a little 'alexander' in the bottom with a golden x, so I'm assuming that's the correct one, ja? Problem though, I can't start a new campaign: I get a 'please select an item from the list message', and if that wasn't weird enough I can still use save games from my previous EB, even though I uninstalled it and checked the 'delete save games' tab. How can I start a new game if it won't let me?
Also, does the aforementioned pack (the files I pasted over) contain the changes to the command stars/ cursus honorum or are the files simply to make EB compatible with Alexander?

now on topic:
:wall: I used to know why that "select an item" message apear but now I can't remember.
so... to be sure this will work I suggest a "reinstall" , but don't get scared :P just downloaad the backup EB files and install them, then go to the eb 1.1 fixes and donwload the Missing sprites fix
then install again my pack :P
that's the basics, now if you would like to change somethin regarding my pack I bealive that I made the most frecuently requested changes :2thumbsup:

Did anyone else notice that the combat animations for Roman legionaries misteriously changed? I'm using the Alex pack without the Allied legions, for the matter, and my legionaries get the old vanilla animations instead of the EB ones.

I don't know, the combat animations for my legionaries suddenly got different, more alike the vanilla ones. They swing their gladii instead of staying behind their shields and keep thrusting their swords, as they should; it's a minor problem but a constant and surprising one.

My bad, I was wrong! I had a dosis of suspicion upon it but after running my own tests with unmodded EB I indeed discovered that Camillan units, specifically Camillan Hastati, have different animations from the Polybian gladii armed units which resembles the old vanilla animations more. Thanks for the attention anyway :P.

I will just shortlly comment on the List of used minimods to help out my friend ||Lz3|| in future releases of this ussefull mod.
* AI Battle Formation Mods* - Alxeb uses EB battle formations which are very nice and inteligent and corespond very good with alx engine (all other battle formations are good also)
* Spoils of Victory for EB 1.1; by V.T. Marvin - I dont really know what this mods do :shrug:
* Some trait changes - Due to the engine itself, ALX uses different patterns to give traits and it ussually does not apply the same as in RTW tests, but any trait addons are endless so the team can support some in the future (then again there has not been many changes to trait system since EB 10)
* Win Conditions - They are not needed in alxeb coz they do not count the game reallity in the new world - so some conditions might be very funny (explanation: Geostrategical map is a new realm in the mod so win conditions of vanilla are not needed)
* Roman Allied Legions - those are nice they could be implemented but the mod has First Cohorts and balanced military system for Romani so they are optional.
* City mod version - Alxeb has its own Size Limits for various reasons and is much more deep concerning many more regions and potential Huge settlements (for example every capital at the start can be huge, also some Strategic small Settlements can be huge also - like Byzantium)
* Fanatic’s First Cohort/Phalanx/Elephant/Chariot minimod; alxeb wont be using this mod coz it is not compatible with the EDU system.
* Aquilifer unit - optional
* Force Diplomacy Minimod - not needed, Alx engine is much more advanced - but I guess its optional.
* Darth Stalin's 1.1 Romani Fix with "corrected" Gallic Helm - i guess this is optional

Question: I know that this isn't save game compatible as it plays havoc with the traits, but could you get away with still playing as the traits don't matter and I can cheat the reforms when I deserve them to save any issues there.

Does this still work properly with EB Alex? I saw some mention of things included not being compatible with Alex (in the Alex EB mod thread), just wondering as I much prefer just dropping in your mod pack than trying to edit things in the text files and using wrecking my EB installation.
Also, is TWFanatic's hoplite mod still compatible with EB Alex?

yes I'll update this, but I'm not sure when, I'm going to be veeery busy in the next 3 weeks :wall:
I bealive pretty much everything will be compatible with 1.2 it just needs work on it.
yes alex.exe will work you would just need to do the chanes manually (in fact, as of now, every submod needs to be done manually )

Well, I'm looking forward to see those changes in action...
And BTW: in the latest "bugfix for 1.2" thread there's latest fix for missing sprites - I suggest taking it into account... :D
I did a little changes to Your pack and when I saw the latest build I thought about changing the minimod pack... yet in my case is the same problem - lack of time...
Thus I think I'll wait until the latest minimod pock (build 1.2) is released... maybe until then I'll play something else (well, I have unfinished Imperial campaign in SW:EAW:FOC - Ultimate Empireat War... so I'll smash the rest of rebel scum...)

Hey, Lz3, I suggest omit the CityMod for now and add only the TW hoplite mod - this is much easier to do (and less time-consuming).
Of course I don't mean to prevent You from breathing - this could be extremely dangerous and would mean a very probable loss of a very well-known and renowned member of EB-fan-community :D
