Opps - typo. The camera is a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ20 (5mp, 12x zoom, image stablizer). It is not a DSLR but it is about the same size as one.
There is no "children/pet" setting on the camera. "Party" and "night portrait" seem to be about the closest to such a mode. However, while looking this up in the manual, I came across the section on the EV (exposure value) setting. I think one of my problems is I got myself confused on how to adjust the EV setting. I was adjusting this to the negative when I think I should have been adjusting it to the positive.![]()

Not only were you in the PPCLI, you were a Peacekeeper as well?

When I was a child
I caught a fleeting glimpse
Out of the corner of my eye.
I turned to look but it was gone
I cannot put my finger on it now
The child is grown,
The dream is gone.
I have become comfortably numb...

Taken after the New years' Dive at Scheveningen:
I'm on it too: I'm the guy with the orange bonnet.
Picking them up from our favorite pine killer.
Unloading them at our yard.
In four or five months these horrid, dirty, frozen, heavy logs are, along with four more loads, are going to be an 84'x32' house.
Right now the shmuck who's going to live in it is probably on a beach somewhere with a tart in one hand and a Heineken in the other.![]()
Did I mention he was a shmuck?

Though I'm not Canadian and I despise the UN I can drink to that. It takes alot of courage to be a peacekeeper, or any kind of soldier really, even more so in the Balkans. Cheers Goofball!Originally Posted by Beirut

Something you need to understand is the depth of respect Canadians hold for our Peacekeepers. Up here, we see our Peacekeepers as soldiers, firemen, cops, doctors, and ambassadors, all rolled into one.Originally Posted by Kaiser of Arabia

Ahh, more wretched jelousy than bitterness. It's a bit of a bummer sometimes to work painfully hard on something nice that you can't afford yourself and that you know will belong to someone else.Originally Posted by SwordsMaster

It's cool. I always thought Peacekeepers had an important role to play in the world, if utalized properly. Although we can argue for hours about how they are deployed, where they are they are often very helpful to civilians and the world. Although the system for accepting them can be abused (re: Bulgaria), those who aren't just random people given by the government tend to be strong willed and good-hearted individuals.Originally Posted by Beirut

I am tired and sick of war. Its glory is all moonshine. It is only those who have neither fired a shot nor heard the shrieks and groans of the wounded who cry aloud for blood, for vengeance, for desolation.
Yeah, keep on reading that book, SFTS. If I see your head moving, you 'll regret it
