This is my first time to post a screenshot. An army of Gaels routing under arrow fire.

    @ iberus

You've done something with the arrows maybe given them a new skin?

Anyway I would totally love a vegetation patch and I think the brown looks good too. those screenies are pretty impressive.

You mentioned personally modding your wacrys. If there is any way you could share your info or files that would be great because I've been tryign to find someone who could help me improve the curent ones. They don't sound very loud or like there are very many people warcrying right now.
anyway thanks alot and I hope you get permission for the vegetation.

Wow, that's really something Obelics. What is it you've edited exactly? It really looks different from any in-game shot, I can't put my finger on it though. It's just a lot sharper and gorgeous. Would be a good one to go on the EB website gallery.

thanks Wonderland, i just adjusted a bit the contrast, and added a very bit of granulous effect to give it some porousness, and i cutted some unneeded part from the borders (minimap etc), plus i resized it to fit in a 950 lenght window (so it can be viewed without scrolling, cause the original sshoot was more than 1200 pixel lenght)

Very nice, the main thing is the contrast and granulating I guess. I'll have to look into that to take some screenies of my own when 0.8 comes out. Any tips? I haven't really tried anything yet, so maybe tips aren't necessary and it's intuitive once I open it up, but asking just in case there's a quick and easy suggestion to get the effect you made .

actually it is more simple than it seems, just regulate the contrast in Photoshop until you obtain a sharp image at your taste, (an automatic contrast should be good), than go in the "filter" menu and select an appropriate filter effect (i have an italian version of Photoshop so im not sure the english name of the effect i use, it should be somethink like "disturb or "rumor", in italian it is "disturbo"), i use a valour between 3.00 and 4.44 max. Anyway after a bit of practice with photoshop you will soon obtain your own style of pic editing.

anyway here it is an image i post just for fun (it is not edited and i only added the dialogue box with MSPaint):

That is the smallest unit size. It's crazy, but I've had to go back to a much much slower computer and I simply can't run EB anymore with my beloved huge unit size.

i've been out for a week...to the ppl asking if i replace any bodyguard unit, the question is no, i merely added officers to them, like signifers, cornicean, and new standard bearers present in mods that tackle them...both in the romanii, and my sweared enemies, the carthaginieans...and of course replaced the atrocious stock horses for new the ones present in Pinarius horse mod, and one horse from Blue lotus, who although a bit asian like, are quite stunning too...

to the ppl asking about a release of the vegetation and graphic improvements, i have no answer from the respective teams, so no advance in this matters...and even if i had it today would take at least two weeks cuz after a week at the beach, im leaving tomorrow on holliday trip and won't be back sooner...sorry but i am not finished with the vegetation, i want to make specific grass appear in specific places like forests, margins of rivers, and river beds....not sure if it is possible, but i heard rumors that it is, and if it is, i want to try it...

as for the warcries i used a mod that goes around the community, i don't remember his name, but this mod is present in a mod called Barebones, i would post the link for the mod, but it appears not to be working now....but if you have the Barebones v1.5 mod you can alway rip the necessary files into your EB instalation...

do to some unfortunate events i ended up not going in my planned trip..wich gave me more time to mod...but...alas i had a system Crash, and ended up loosing my moddified version of EB, as well as all my backups...but fear not, i have redone, and reemplemented everything back, and fixed some issues i had before...now horses are assigned to their originally supposed factions...

i found the numidian horses on roman units a bit odd, but was able to live with it, but now it is fixed and for example the roman Equites look like this...

the signifers, centurions, standard bearers, and corniceans are back as well, and i will now add a new type of horse model for the catraphrat and the general's horse from the Blue Lotus Mod...they might be a bit asian like, but i like them...so as soon as i can i'll post screenies for you all to see...

EDIT- well i got the new hoses in game, i love the result...but maybe i can retexture the reins, not tottaly happy about them...

and this is the catraphact horses..in my view they look better then the current version ones...

but unfortunately there is a side efect, the carthaginian sacred band and some other cavalary get this model too...i guess i'll have to change this when i get the time...now im off to play a bit...

Got a rather funky sky in a battle at high altitude near Sarmizethusa. In fake game world it totally freaked out my superstitious Gallic mercenaries (kinda like an eclipse, ya know), and they wouldn't participate in the battle. Lucky for me, the super religious Getai saw it as a sign from Zalmoxis as they went into battle near their holy mountain. Ok, nuff of that, here's the shot:

Pretty funky sky there. It is great how you saw it as a sign, and reacted In Character with your soldiers.

I've been playing around with the movie camera in RTW today these screenshots are the end result I have only made them smaller I still need to get used to the camera it can be a bit cumbersome i'll see what I can do in photoshop once I'm more reliable with the camera.

    without further adieu...

Galatian Kleruchoi charge my Pezhetairoi head on.

The Pezhetairoi know whats is about to happen...

    The Hetairoi close in.

Hetairoi about to smash into the rear of the savage Galatians.

The Galatians flee for their lives.

    The Pezhetairoi square up.

The main push of pike begins.

Another group of Galatians tries to out flank the Phalanx on the right but they are met by a group of Pheraspidai heavy infantry.

The Hetairoi deliver another charge to the rear and scatter the 2nd group of Galatians.

The Ptolemaioi send their fresh Hetairoi after my Hetairoi

The committed Hetairoi are counter-charged by my reserve Hetairoi

Thanvabara have been laying down supporting fire throughout the battle

With the defeat of the Galatians the Pheraspidai are free to do some flanking of their own.

The same is happening on the left flank.

The rest of the battle was just mopping up routing units really which doesn’t really made for good pictures unfortunately.

Its one of the RTW.exe command line options to use it just right click on the Europa Barbarorum shortcut on the desktop (The one that is created when you install EB) and insert the following highlighted bit.

Now whenever you load a replay you will get the movie cam view its pretty simple takes a bit to get familiar with but its nothing to different from normal RTW the most important bit is the spacebar this gets rid of the UI and just leaves a blue "Ruler" bar I don't know how to get rid of it so I just cut it out of my pictures.

The only down side is you can only save battle replays in custom battles (and perhaps quick and historic battles) so you can't use it for campaign screenshots.

As for Proms grass you just extract everything but Grass_readme.txt to the /data directory (after making back ups of course )

Take a look at the expended archers' quivers. And even the two javelins of the thureophoroi units - they are all gone too. That man has used every single arrow and javelin very carefully to take that rebel army down at distance. I was just there to give advice.

Heh... it's only what happens when units of Nizag Gund charge uphill into a phalanx. I really wish there had been at least some tactical strategy brought forth by the enemy, but I guess that's too much to ask. That and the fact that they emptied their quivers on my phalanx with the only archer unit they had instead of trying to advance to fire on my weaker units. That's where the three deaths came from.

They had a LOT of Nizag Gund, a couple units of Pantodapoi, and a unit of Indian Longbowmen, I think. It equalled a full stack.

Well that certainly makes more sense I've generally found rebel armies in that region to be quite heavy with archers which makes it hard to take them out without largish losses nice to see someone has the luck.
