Military New units for the Basileus' Royal army have been raised, Prodromoi from Seleukeia, Persian Archers from Edessa, and Pezhetairoi from Antiocheia. Sidon has been besieged by a small Ptolemaic army of 5 units.
Construction A new school has been completed in Sardis, and no new buildings have been commissioned this season due to Royal Recruitment requirements.
Internal Affairs Timarchos A. Mysiakes has been recognized by the men under his command as a talented leader. Several talented men have been attracted into the service of the Arkhe under our Strategoi. Gennaios S. Babyloniakes has engaged the services of a Dioikeites and a Musician. Paiaitolos Ankyrikos has engaged the services of a Priest of Seleukos and a Playwright. Alexandros Syriakos has in his employ a Chreophylax, and Appolonidas A. Karikes has the assistance of a freeman clerk. Taxes have been temporarily lowered in Side to alleviate unrest.
Foreign Affairs The Koinon Hellenon of Allied Poleis have declared war upon the Sauromatae nomads, let us wish our fellow Greeks good fortune against the steppe invaders. A diplomat is en-route to Pontos to make our displeasure at their seemingly aggressive movements through our territory known.
Military Recommendations for the Basileus I recommend that troops under the command of the inactive strategos Bithys Nisaias Parthiakes be transferred to the command of Timarchos A. Mysiakes, so that he may enjoy increased chances of victory against the Ptolemaic army besieging Sidon, should he decide to engage them.
