    Chancellor's Report Fall 265

Military Retrained the 1st Lydian Army at Antiocheia to full strength, Hippakontistai, Thureophoroi, Pantodapoi Phalangitai, and Akontistai. Also retrained Ioudaioi and Pantodapoi Phalangitai in Sidon.

Construction Work has begun on a coastal clearing near Side. Roads have been completed in Halikarnassos, and an armory has been added to the foreign conscription center in Hekatompylos.

Internal Affairs We are recognized as the most advanced nation in the known world.

Foreign Affairs The known world recognizes the Military might of Karchedon as unmatched by any other. Our former emissary to Pontos, Meleagros S. Pamphyliakes has taken their gold and left our service, immediately after he announced to them the end of our alliance. We regret that our client was unable to satisfy our grievances towards their untoward actions without treachery.

Intelligence Agents report that most of the garrison of Ankyra have left the city, while the Pontic pretender's son has entered the city. The 5 unit raiding party seems to be heading toward Ipsos, composed of mostly Galatian levies. A relatively weak Ptolemaic force has crossed our southern border from Ioudaia into Southern Phoinike, they are most likely heading toward Sidon, with other forces massing near Hierosolyma.

    Report:

Heroic Victory on one of the Pontic armies camped out of the city and on the city's garrisons who came to reinforce the first army. They were exterminated. The city was clear and the 1st Syrian Army took it. A enemy General died in the battle.

There is still a Pontic army camped outside the city.

Strategos Epilektos Aratos Syriakes enslaved and looted the city, a painful decision. A conflict of interests took place between saving the citizens or enslaving them, in order to fund the Arkhe's war against Ptolemy. Strategos Arrhenides did not approve Aratos' decision.

The treasury has been increased to more or less 8000 mnai, as Strategos Aratos decided to loot the city's barracks of no use to the Empire. Their worshipping buildings have been sparred as they can become a good foundation for temples dedicated to our gods.
