Emperor's Report, Summer 272 BC

Building

The people of Ariminum live in happier times as law&order there has been renewed by the set-up of a provincial military government. The setting up of an allied state is now also being constructed there this spring.

Military
An army fort has been set up south of Arpi to begin rallying forces to defend against the Epirotes. Two RGBs have been put in queue in Roma and Ariminum as well.

Internal Affairs
Taxes have been set to high in Arpi.

Foreign Affairs
The Empire of Selukia has broken its Alliance with Pontus, Hayasdan, and Baktria. Our diplomats have settled a ceasefire with the Aedui and established trade with them. Our northern borders are now safer.Allies: Qarthasdam Enemies: Epiros and Averni

Intelligence
Our spies have spotted a small Epirote army south of Arpi. It is one Toxotai and one Hippeis Tarantinoi under a Captain Eudamos.

fought a minor battle against the small force of epirotes. damned skirmisher cavalry fled before I could engage them properly.
(since there's no battle reports thread I'll post the battle report with this)

the enemy has some toxotai and 37 hippeis tarantinoi left, we lost 6 principes and 16 equites (bodyguard)

moved into the fort to await the other troops to arrive afterwards

I have now joined Legatus Asina and Legio I Apulia in the fort. We still await reinforcements.

As a further report, the Tarentine army seems to have enlarged in size. Perhaps it may be prudent to send scouting forces ahead as a vanguard to assess the enemies strength, and perhaps to test their defences.
