Consul of the Legion's report, Winter 261

A contract has been agreed upon with merchants to transport our garrison troops across the adriatic (OOC: I have recruited an oneiara (sp?) fleet in Ariminum to transport troops to and from Illyria)
one unit of Rorarii is being conscripted in Arpi
one unit of Accensi is being conscripted in Capua
(both are for garrisoning Illyria)

our spy, S.P. Carbo reports a sizable epirote force numbering 315 pikemen and 253 skirmishers marching from southeast of Dalminion.
He also reports that a massive Getian force has been spotted north of Serdike

Consul of Finance should destroy the foreign MICs and govts in recently conquered Illyria for money and to prevent Legio II officers from getting the 'interloper' trait.

Investigated report of Epirite forces. It is indeed true. I believe this is the Epirite army designed to take command of Dalminion after the recent death of the client king; but we got there first. Now it is about to pass through the mountains. Once done it will be in a position to go for either Dalminion itself, or strike the unprotected rear of Legio III. If it chooses the latter, the effects on the legion, and on the campaign, could be devastating. I have detailed one of my cohorts to remain in Dalminion to keep order while the main body of the Legio II marches in an attempt to block the enemy army's route. However, public order is not good. I require reinforcments immediately.

Our spy in Massilia reports that the Arvernians are rallying many troops in and around their capital; and that the Punic force spotted the previous season is marching near the Greek Colony of Emporion.

The Epirite forces are massing in a mountain camp on the traditional border between the countries of Makedon and Epirus. There are even several elite units there. There is an obvious danger to Epidamnos and Legio III. I have set up Legio II's camp just north of the Epirite forces' position, in an attempt to draw their attention away from Legio III.

This is roleplay wise. If a depleted legion was waiting to evacuated, you wouldnt let it be attacked if you could help it. pfft...this is what I get for helping the Legio III...

One unit of accensi trained in Arpi
Princeps, it would be more effecient if you move the ships down the coast of Italy then board the troops, then transport them over to Epidamnon, then Legio III may leave the town and head back to Italia to be retrained.
