Moved Villain and his army to join the ambush force, also moved the men trained at Metz towards Frankfurt.
Taking the save to go save Portugal, per the King's suggestion.

Save is back, one small stack of Moors headed for Portugal have been defeated. For the second time in this campaign, however, I used my movement poorly and following the night battle I was unable to engage the second stack.

Is the save still out? Not that Barthelemy needs to do much...

I am a little concerned that MA has had the save all day. The only things I know he’s doing is prepping the army near Frankfurt for the potential battle/ambush by merging some units etc.
If its not back by tonight I hope that Trist can take it and proceed with the same.

Louis, the Moors have noticed you following them, turned around and engaged you in a pincer's move.
Save is here
Please save the game as soon as possible afterwards. So I can check the remaining AI moves and get the scrolls.

Working on this as soon as I do the SS hotseat game. It'll be done tonight.

Louis' dread has reached the point that captain led AI troops often rout before his charge strikes (If they're surrounded or fighting uphill). It's almost like cheating. I didn't get the option of what to do with the captives (1250 of them) but there was the 'executed' sound I think.

Le Rapport Royal de l'an de Grâce 1120
While his majesty is away in Albion, sending back to the sea yet another wave of Viking raiders, the Royaume has been stirred by a fierce legal debate about the ownership of the castle of Staufen and all lands formerly belonging to the Duc of Lorraine, Thomas de Saint-Amand.
In the wake of this debate, Prince Henri and his supporters seem to have gained the upper hand. Henri’s vassal, Count Villain de la Salle, has joined the Royal Family with the support of Prince Charles, now Count of Staufen.
Meanwhile, in Iberia, Prince Louis has started his march towards Portugal, to bring relief to a kingdom under threat of extinction, defeating a lesser Moorish force along the way. But the Moors, made aware of Louis’ presence behind their lines, have turned around and tried to take Prince Louis’ army in a pincer’s move. But the men went reluctantly to the battle and so fled when Prince Louis charged them. That did not change their fate.
His Majesty has once again defeated a wave of Viking raiders landing near the monastery of Lindisfarne where they had met their first successes against the Christian kingdoms so many years ago.
Before the battle, our fleet had defeated the Norse fleet, taking away any possibility of flight for the raiders. In the aftermath of the battle, His majesty then returned to Edinburgh leaving a few of his cavalry companies to scout the countryside.
Edinburgh will certainly be abandoned next year for what we expect to be a hefty sum in florins. His Majesty wishes us to concentrate on southern England, leaving the bleak north to the Scots and limiting the English to Ireland.
Affaires militaires
Recrutement
Here is the list of our recruited and retrained forces.
Albion
English forces have been spotted massing on the Welsh border with the possibility to strike either at York or Edinburgh, or both.
With this in mind, His Majesty will make use of the fleet to sail back to York, selling Edinburgh back to the Scots.
The blockade on the port of Arhus is in effect, according to the Council of Nobles’. The fleet that was defeated in Scotland loiters in the area and may breach our blockade.
Germany
Bypassing the army of Sieur Le Sueur and defeating their preparations for an ambush, an Imperial army has laid siege to Frankfurt.
In the meantime, Herrmann Erlach is swooping down on Antwerp.
Iberia
Are the Reichlanders in league with the Moors ? It truly seems so as our fleet that patrolled the straits of Gibraltar has been attacked and defeated by a German fleet. Are they trying to look good in fellow Catholic kingdoms’ eyes ? Or will they protect or even ferry the Moorish forces across the straits ?
Lisbon itself is threatened by a large Moorish army and Cordoba is still defended by large forces.
German and English fleets have been spotted at sea away from the Portuguese coast and will certainly prevent our fleet from resuming its position in the Gibraltar straits.
Italy
Milan has once again defeated an assault on Genoa, this time led by the Venetians. They seem to be formidable foes, undaunted and unvanquished. Hopefully, their Italian fellows will keep them busy enough that they cannot spare enough men to attack us.
Affaires diplomatiques
Our diplomats have still been busy this year but remain unsuccessful. Even among our allies. Though we made Spain a very generous offer for a simple exchange of maps, they flatly refused. Same goes with his Holiness the Pope, though it may be due to the fact that our diplomat didn’t get access to His Holiness directly but had to deal with one of the generals preventing him from crossing the Rubicon. What is truly happening in Rome is a matter of guessing ? How does Pope Gregoire fare ?
The Poles also remain steadfast in their support of the Reich. Their diplomat have been spotted making deals in Vienna. Their assault on Riga may well be the reason behind their search for support from the Germans.
The Spanish princess that was heading for Frankfurt has turned tailed on hearing the news of the Imperials’ arrival under the walls of the city. She is now running south. It is certainly a blessing for our princess as every reports tells us she was something of a snob (OOC : btw, every princess I spotted is called the Snob…)
The Scots are now at war with the Danes, surely over their Scandinavian holdings.
Our relationships with some of the other Catholic kingdoms are on the down side.
Affaires intérieures
One of our merchant is headed for Zagreb where large deposits of gold are rumoured to have been discovered. If that turns out to be mere rumour, he will then headed eastwards towards Constantinople and even to the Holy Land and its riches in silks and spices.
A spy is headed towards Bordeaux and will soon be placed under the command of Prince Louis.
Several buildings have been completed this year and a bowyer has been commissioned in Valencia and a Communal farming in Pamplona.
The threat of the Inquisition has spread from Germany into our lands. One of our own priest has even been judged guilty of Heresy and burnt at the stake. Let this be a reminder to all to check their souls and see what sins they need to expiate.
Rioting has also broken out in Granada. It seems to remain feuds between the inhabitants of the city but could well lead to them assaulting our men.
Affaires de la Cour et du Monde
Sieur Villain de la Salle’s formal adoption into the Royal Family has shaken the royal court. Though the Duchy still faces difficult times, its internal policies may have lost it the King’s support, endangering the rest of the kingdom.
Another young noble, prodded by Sieur de la Salle’s fate, has submitted a plea for adoption. Maybe it is the start of a fashion ?
Recommandations
His Majesty would like to hear what Prince Louis wants done with the Gibraltar fleet. Should it be disbanded, retreated back to a French port, sent back south at the risk of being utterly destroyed ?
Sieur de Beauvais is encouraged to take action against the German army threatening Antwerp. And either Prince Henri or Sieur Le Sueur are in good position to defend the Lorraine capital.
Rioting in Granada has to be brought to heel and His Majesty would like his son to make provisions to that end. The city cannot be ratified until the next Conseil session but with its riotous state, His Majesty fears there will be nothing left to ratify.

Save Back
https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/local...id=199&id=5147
I have moved the troops from the bridge south of Frankfurt into re-enforcement position outside the city and troops from Staufen (by agreement with Ibn) to the bridge they came from - if that makes sense.
Although asked by Ibn, I did not move Charles to Staufen as he appears keen to get the save anyway.
