I have a problem with two units, late Liby-Phonicans and Syracusan hoplites. They both have pointy feet and genrally angular skins. Is there anything i can do to fix this or do i have to just live with it?

You have to turn on unit shaders I believe.
Though, I'm sure the EB team has a response.

TA, what is it with the Punic-Liby Spearmen series and Syrakousai Hoplitai looking like freaks without unit shaders?

CA 'broke' it in patch 1.2 and never fixed it. However you do have the shader option to correct it, but this does require more from your GFX-card (because you essentially force RTW to run on one notch higher settings). Since about all GFX-cards support the level of shaders required by now this is not really an issue...
(The issue is, as you might've guessed, not limitted to EB skins or something: in fact Vanilla Hastati suffer the same fate IIRC.)
