whats with this logon trouble?

yesterday i got on fine, today i get a million "cant logon" messages or "connection lost" when i was never connected. i turned my ca firewall off and still nothing.

got on once about an hour ago, but lost connection while alt tabbed to the org cuz the lobby was dead

is the lobby this unstable? i havnt played this game online since like before kingdoms came out...but i dont remember it being this awful.

by the way is the lobby always this dead? its 8:00 pm east coast time... jeez.

i almost miss being on third shift so i could play with all the euros in the morning

I was getting the same problems last night. Must be a GameSpy connection problem.

been trying all day, 6 hours to get on and play a game. they should be ashamed of themselves.

at least among all the hyperbole in them selling you on "empire" the multiplayer is the very last thing mentioned

ps.: I would pick a day in this week as "Medieval2 memorial day". At least for me, it is the day it dies.
A quick look at totalwar.com forum: zilch, nada, not even a mention (maybe I missed out a thread somewhere).
At gamespy forum: 3 posts about the subject, no official answer.

My opinion of course, but Retrofit Multiplayer is the state of the art of the game anyway, why would you settle for less?

Then why do you play Samurai Wars? I don't believe that anyone who plays Samurai Wars is settling for less since the tactical depth of the MTW battle engine is superior to that of the M2TW battle engine. Also, Retrofit doesn't overcome the limitation that you cannot change the relative speeds of the individual units which is important to dynamic playbalance.

Oh man, I tried that when I had a gamespy ladder...they are utterly useless.
