    Default Great use for MTW2 in art.

    So I was watching "Edward III" by William Shakespeare at Bulandra theater and when they had to portray the Battle of Agincourt they used MTW2 (during the play) while the background music played Jazz.
    Just imagine, the director implemented MTW2 in a Shakespeare play.

    I have to agree with Big_John, though. Playing jazz music during *any* Shakespeare play is just plain wrong....

    I actually love jazz; it's one of my favorite music genres. It's just wholly inappropriate for some things, however....such as Shakespeare.

    Jazz shouldnt really be anywhere near in shakespeare I personally think... unless they really changened the theme, which makes it kinda cheesey... and thay would create what I call a "bolls/balls/bulls-up-triangle"

    MTW2

    Jazz
    Shakespeare

    If one thing is changened (not removed) some else will have to be changened... which will inturn cause a chain reaction

    Well, considering I have Django Reinhardt playing from when I wake to when I sleep - I may, given time, find offence in insults against Jazz.

    However, this, is rather terrible.

    I can only hope they don't portray the battle of Phillipi with Rome: Total War.

    (No, Europa Barbarorum would not make it any less degrading.)

    All I can note is they must have performed terribly as actors, to even consider using a video-game to portray a far-less-than-crucial event of that play.

    And yes, the Battle of Agincourt, though at the centre of the play, is by no means crucial to it's success. Especially not in this format.

    good jazz is good. good things tend to be good, most of the time.

    but people can feel however they want about it, no water off of my back.

    jazz + shakespeare = not good. under any circumstances. dissenters will be ostracized.

    Sorry to be a pendant, but I suppose it's apt in this case if I am the one to be so, but the battle portrayed in Edward III is the battle of Crecy, not Agincourt, which was fought by coughkinghenrycoughvcough.

    I must say that though I do love jazz (it is probably my favourite genre of music) mixing it with Shakespeare would be like, making a puree out of lobster and foie gras! Simply not on.

    Yeah just imagine the 500 French Knights hurling themselves onto the English pikes (do you have any idea how many Timurid generals did this facing my Janissary Archers?). The audience might find that a little strange.

    As for mixing Shakespeare with Jazz, that is just wrong. The only thing I can think of that would be more disturbing is Napoleonic Battles to the sound of Abba, at least if they picked that Waterloo song they could make it more relevant.

    I really wish I hadn't thought of that now. Looks like it will be nightmares tonight...
