    Default Looking forward to joining

Yes! I have finally decided, i am downloading EB as i speak. I will finally be able to speak with the other EBers about what i hear is a great mod.

One question? Where is the Lorica Segmentata?

But really, i think the historical accuracy of this should be great, and i am a firm beliver that LS was not in the timeperiod anyway.

But, alas, i may have some problems i need resolved before i can play...

First off, i am playing a PBeM in the throne room, so i cannot just convert my entire game. Does anyone know how to create a seperate install for RTW? That way i can just pop EB into that, and be done with it

Also, is it possible to use SigniferOnes new(ish) animations? I prefer the classical hoplites (overhand).

Thanks, cant wait to join you guys in conversation

EB uses the "mod:" switch, and puts its files in a separate subfolder. So there should be no compatibility issues there.

...not that I would know though, I never touched vanilla again after taking one look at EB...

EB already has its hoplites - and a lot of others - using overhand spears. Which is good for you, as due to the way the mod's and Sig's animations work the relevant models would basically have their spears the exact wrong way with the latter...

Mind, the last I tried to "port" other custom animations into my copy of EB I ended up with some kind of obscure and apparently unresolvable compatibility issue, and gave up after a while.

"Let us remember that there are multiple theories of Intelligent Design. I and many others around the world are of the strong belief that the universe was created by a Flying Spaghetti Monster. --- Proof of the existence of the FSM, if needed, can be found in the recent uptick of global warming, earthquakes, hurricanes, and other natural disasters. Apparently His Pastaness is to be worshipped in full pirate regalia. The decline in worldwide pirate population over the past 200 years directly corresponds with the increase in global temperature. Here is a graph to illustrate the point."

As far as I understand, if you install EB into your RTW folder it´ll make it impossible to play RTW Vanilla from that folder, even if EB is installed in a subfolder, at least that´s how it was for me. So I just copied the entire RTW folder and installed EB in that, that way I now have 7 different RTW/BI mods installed that I can play at any time. If you include Vanilla RTW and BI, that means I can play 9 different games from one disc, as I have the Gold Edition one. Hooray for me!
Anyway, congrats on yout choice, I promise, you won´t regret it. As long as you don´t bring up the LS again.

I don't come here a lot any more. You know why? Because you suck. That's right, I'm talking to you. Your annoying attitude, bad grammar, illogical arguments, false beliefs and pathetic attempts at humour have driven me and many other nice people from this forum. You should feel ashamed. Report here at once to recieve your punishment. Scumbag.

Only problem is even with the torrent download, its only at 30% with around 30-40kbps, so i may not have time to play it tonight

But, it sounds great. And i will do the same thing: Copy the data folder and put eb into that, then use the mod switch.

    Thanks!

And as for the LS, you can tell ive been reading around

Yes you can't use EB with Vanilla. Even though it uses the :mod-switch command line, it does change some vanilla folders.

i'm interested to hear your first impressions of the mod: which faction have you chosen, how does it feel? it's been a while since i experienced the newness factor in EB, except when changing faction...so yeah, thoughts??

I also recommend, if you're a real fan of hoplites, to check out TWFanatic's mod and CirdanDharix's EB Tweak's mods. If you like what you see, download one (only one) of them.

Welcome Aboard! Hang out in the EB forum. Grab a drink in the Tavern, never mind the silliness there - oh wait, that is what the tavern is for.
Questions? Go ahead and post 'em. You'll find all sorts of knowledge here - for better or worse.
Also, I recommend getting a supply of your drink of choice next to your computer. Welcome to your newest addiction! You ain't going no where!
