To my understanding - they are PARTLY dependent on the area you have conquered and the area you controll. I think that it also have something to do with the historicall expansion and historical relationships between people.Originally Posted by Dubius Cato
So as a Armenia you will not be able to get FM's or generals with the Iberian (assuming that you think Hispania, not the Iberia of the east)ethnicity trait - because Armenia never reached Hispania.
Example of dependancy on the are that you control would be that if you as a Baktria or Saka conquer the Indian regions you will have a chance to get ethnicity traits - like Indo-hellene or Indo-Saka
Or as the mate above me said - If you are playing for Arverni or Aeudi and you conquer Britain or Ireland - you will get traits such as Fene (ireland), Brigante etc.
BTW:that guy who made that thing with migration campaign from Gaul to Ireland was me - And it was pretty sweet campaing I have managed to defeat the Casse, left them with only one city and made them my protectorate, then I conquere those two Belgic provinces (which were in hands of Sweboz, and then my old abandoned homeland Gregovia rebbeled from Roman opressors on my side.
You can check all those ethnicity traits in (export-descr_character_traits)
