We can try to balance the formations so that they would look remotely like what they should on small, but it's not exactly easy - inter-unit spacing and unit depth can not be scaled with regards to unit size; they're constant on all sizes, which is just plain dumb.
is there a way of changing the formation, should your germanic spearmen be in lines when you want them in blocks?
