I am half way through this AAR and the Mongols were beaten back but at a cost of expansion. It is the start of the 1300's and I would expect the Timurids to show soon. I have a small window and consider the possibilities. The plague has also arrived.
Should I prepare or attack my neighbours to grab some land and who should I attack?

I am obviously a very slow turtle when I play and not the ninja kind. I would appreciate to hear some strategy so I can meet the victory conditions.

Well to keep things moving I guess I will have to go with what I was thinking and batten down the hatches for the next onslaught.
If anyone has any tatical advice I am all eyes.

I haven't actually faced the Timurids in the mod you're playing, so I don't know how much my advice will help. If you want to try to make them easy and break them down, defend cities. If you want to go the blaze of glory route, go out there and get them. Bring piles of archers or javelin troops for the elephants, and otherwise fight 'em just like you would the Mongols.
