You could confidently say that about every future release. Seriously, when has any new version ever been saved game compatible?
It began on seven hills - an EB 1.1 Romani AAR with historical house-rules (now ceased)
Heirs to Lysimachos - an EB 1.1 Epeiros-as-Pergamon AAR with semi-historical houserules (now ceased)
Philetairos' Gift - a second EB 1.1 Epeiros-as-Pergamon AAR

Ya know, for all we know the next release might be EB2. Or just a release of a PDF telling all of us how stupid we were to be fooled by the EB Team into believing that 1.1 was actually ever going to come out.
