    Default EB Manual

Already posted this in AAR area, but I think as it is some newer EBers might find this useful.

Here is sort of an unofficial EB manual that we've been putting together: http://ebmanual.wikispaces.com/ . The idea is to collaborate and get feedback on the text in the wiki, and then release it in a distributable format (.pdf) complete with pictures, art, et cetera. I solicit your feedback and criticism. Note that it is still a work in progress, but a good number of sections I would consider fairly complete.

If you would like to join the team and help in editing and writing, send me a pm with your email address and I will send you an invite. Or register a free wikispaces account and request to join the space. Thank you.

EB Team: would love your thoughts most of all.

This is a good initiative, stupac, which gets more importance since it's done by the fans.

The team is currently engaged in finishing EB1.1 and moving on with EB2, so be patient if we don't give feedback with the speed that you probably expected. However, we'll be watching this work attentively and dropping a line whenever possible.

    Good work!

    EDIT1:
Btw, I suppose you have consulted the building trees to get the info for the government page, right? Most of the times, a diagram can be more helpful than just trying to say it by words, and the conditions for the nomad govs are a bit complicated.

I think some care must be taken not to transform the manual into somekind of personal experience. For example, I saw that in the Economy page, Rules of Thumb section, you say "usually it's a good idea to disband units..." I think this is a very personal decision and it would be better if you write it as one of 2 or 3 possible solutions: disband, attack a nearby large and well defended settlement (get the settlement and reduces your troops) or brave the tough waters of being in the red while conquering around.

Thanks. Appreciate your guys' work, I'm not expecting anything instant.

Yes, the building trees are massively useful, and I will refer to them in the manual as they are also distributable and will be recommended supplements. Still, if someone lacks the knowledge of how EB governments basically work, they will probably be lost when looking at the trees, so I'm trying to provide a foundation

I agree, I don't want to make it a personal experience, but I know that it took me a while to get the hang of EB. It was a frustrating experience at times and if it hadn't been for comments and guides I read on the forums here I would have probably threw in the towel. I tried my best to give many options in that section and to explain that there really is no right or wrong way as long as it works for you. Perhaps "rules of thumb" is not the best word choice for that subsection, I kind of threw it all together quickly, that area I just gave some quick tips that I couldn't decide where to put.

I appreciate the feedback very much, JMRC, I'll continue refining it; criticism and suggestions just makes it happen faster.
