Karian warband
Found these guys on the RV they are from the Karia and a few other areas,but I can't find them at all in the unit folder or the building folder,are they under another name?..I want to recruit them for my pontus game,as they would make a nice flanking unit,and they look cool,can I get them as pontic?..or are they only for the rebel faction?

RV can answer all this questions. Yes you can get them asPontos. All factions can get them.can I get them as pontic?..or are they only for the rebel faction?
If you want to find them in EB files you should look for Uazali.

did a search again but no Uazali comes up in the Eb unit folder or the eb building folder,also did a manual search through the unit folder and there is no uazali in there..and yes I am looking in the eb folder i am thinking are they called something else in there?

I and many others have used them, so they are there. There shouldn´t be a problem, even though you seem to have one.

IIRC they were under the name "Uzazali" or something along those lines.

Look in export_descr_unit in Program Files\Activision\Rome - Total War\EB\Data .
Edit -> find -> hellenistic infantry uazali
You can recruit them as any faction in the two provinces in aisa minor that are in the lower lefthand corner of Aisa Minor and the province along the bottm of Aisa Minor to the right of these . You need a level 3 regional {ie , non-factional} MIC .
Here is a screen from the recruitment viewer of those 3 provinces .
Just remember , it isn't the factional MIC {that you get your Bronze Shields etc from} but the regional MIC and the third level {you can build those with any Government type} .

Thanks all,worked out my problem had an older version of ebmy bad,I did a re-install a couple of weeks ago and didn't realise my back up version was .8,am building to my Karian/Galitian kingdom now

They also show up as mercs around that area. Quite a good value unit for Pontos.

I always looked askance at them because they look really unkempt, but there're rave reviews from everyone about how they can stop any cavalry charge from around the region cold, so if so many people are saying it, they can't be wrong.
...never catch me using them though.
