Country of Residence: United States of America
Nationality: Citizen of the USA
Political compass: Depends on the issue.
Where do you put yourself on the political spectrum:
I am an independent moderate.
Do you indentify yourself with a certain political grouping (socialist, neocon, etc): Independent.
Do you indentify yourself with a certain political party: No.
Religion: Non-religious.
Abortion: Strongly advocate against it's use except in cases of rape/incest/welfare of the mother, believe it should be legal in those cases, and prior to second trimester.
War in Iraq: There was a better way to handle Saddam, and it had nothing to do with 9/11
War in Afghanistan: Necessary front in dispatching Al-Qaeda, who are responsible for many worldwide terrorist attacks.
Marijuana: I strongly advocate against it's use and believe that it should be illegal to carry more than a certain amount of it.
Firearms: Felons and drug users/dealers should never be able to carry them, ever again. Law-abiding citizens should have every right to use firearms, however there should be a limit to how many they possess.
Gay Marriage: Marriage exists as a promise between two people to love and care for one another, forever. That's all marriage ever should be. Religion and government need not get involved.
Gay Adoption: Gay people are allowed to be mothers and fathers. So... why exactly can they not adopt?
Religion in Schools: I thoroughly detest it. I think we should teach things about religions, but not teach religion.
Death Penalty: In some cases, yes.
European Union: If they vote to join it, that's their business.
I think even the 2-axis political spectrum chart is too abstract and simplistic to be of any real value, personally. But feel free to plot me on your diagram. I think for myself and am unpredictable.
