It's up to each member to decide how to express themselves, and since swearing isn't condoned here due to the family nature of these forums I think it's perfectly reasonable that moderators replace unacceptable parts of posts with flowers.Originally Posted by Brave

But why not change a post from (example) Glenn you are really starting to me off to Glenn :furious3)?
you can always replace swearing with yourself. If you break the rules by swearing then the mods can edit out those words however they see fit. Besides I happen to like
Why did the chicken cross the road?
So that its subjects will view it with admiration, as a chicken which has the daring and courage to boldly cross the road,
but also with fear, for whom among them has the strength to contend with such a paragon of avian virtue? In such a manner is the princely
chicken's dominion maintained. ~Machiavelli
Making people who are swearing or flaming on the boards look silly by replacing their post with daisy is a good idea.
To avoid your post being edited to look silly - don't flame or swear
(or as it is sort of shorthand on board now, use daisy yourself)

But why make such a post in the first place?Originally Posted by Brave
Well, the point of not swearing and breaking the rules is valid although these things happen. I just think that replacing swear words with that daisy looks vulgar. Maybe a smaller daisy which does not take up 2/3 lines would be better?
With respect Brave it is the swearword itself that is vulgar. So if you consider the daisy symbol vulgar I can only respond with: where there is a vulgar intent there will be vulgarity. Quibbling over the size of the emoticon is irrelevant to this argument also. Don't use foul language in the first place and the daisy will never appear. And I'm sure that if I can keep myself in check and not use such language then you can also.Originally Posted by Brave

I love flowers. They are beautiful, smell good, are full of positive energy and make me feel happy!

Again another valid point (although check for yourself, I have not used obcene language which resulted in a daisy, I got the impression earlier that people thought that I was having a few sour grapes) although there must be a better emoticon somewhere for the job.Originally Posted by caravel
The emoticon is unsuitable as it almost justifies the action. A moderator replacing an insult with this is not diffusing the situation, in fact some might say that he is supporting it. The flower snuffs out the initial insult and also puts the culprits nose out of joint somewhat. If a person does not wish to feel like this then he simply need not use foul language, it's as simple as that.Originally Posted by Brave

Remind me to plant my tulip before March is over.
I found a half dead tulip last year, stolen by a from the public park and thrown away. I planted her, waited for her to wither, took out the onion, wrapped in black and put under my bed. Now it's time to replant her.
Yes, there are so many and s roaming the streets.

Didn't Beirut or BKS start it in the Frontroom, AKA the Kingdom of Peace and Love? It seems quite fitting to me.

you can have an automated daisy. Its under administration tools/ panel.
I don't think we really need that though. I doubt it would cause problems, but the forums don't seem to get enough "language violations" to merit that.Originally Posted by Brave

Been to:
Swords Made of Letters - 1938. The war is looming in France - and Alexandre Reythier does not have much time left to protect his country. A novel set before the war.
A Painted Shield of Honour - 1313. Templar Knights in France are in grave danger. Can they be saved?
Might want to watch out with that. I once got a warning for disguising a personal attack with a daisy.Originally Posted by CountArach
I've yet to get a warning point, so that is a good thing...so I guess that would mandate a:
How could someone be a "Flower"ing camel lover?
Also, I feel that yes, the flower smilie is a touch large. Couldn't it be replaced with something like:
Go yourselves! I ing hate you all. I wouldn't give a if you fell over and broke your neck, right now. You lover!
It literally translates as:
Go balloon yourselves! I ballooning hate you all. I wouldn't give a balloon if you fell over and broke your neck, right now. You balloon lover!
But really means:
Let's go ballooning! I ballooning love you all. I would give all of you a balloon if you fell over and broke your neck, right now. You balloon lover!
