Not sure if it was because I was playing on Hard.
Damn, that sounds impressive!

In the very same campaign in which I noticed the Lusitani comeback, I've witnessed the carthaginian comeback. After I conquered all up to Adrumeto, I decided to finally put an end to Carthage and challenged, rather recklessly, their last full stack army. Unfortunately, it turned out the army was a veteran force from Carthago-Ptolemies wars. Some 9 silver chevron Elite African Pikemen, rest being silver chevron elite african infantry and a few sacred band cavalry and infantry. The worst thing is that despite inflicting heavy loss on them, they're basically unbeatable. And funnily I though of killing the 8 star general Hannibal, who lead them, but after killing all his bodyguards they guy just somehow sank into the pikemen lines and there is no way to kill him . I soon plan to ship out the Romani-counterpart, a whole silver chevron consular army.
