    Default I, Cluadius.

Anyone else been watching the re-run on UKTV History? I'd forgotten what a masterpiece this series is. A veritable cornucopia of acting talent.

Look at this for a cast list.

    Brian Blessed (sans beard)

    John Hurt

    Ian Ogilvy

    Derek Jacobi

    George Baker

    Patrick Stewart

There are times I wish they’d just ban everything- baccy and beer, burgers and bangers, and all the rest- once and for all. Instead, they creep forward one apparently tiny step at a time. It’s like being executed with a bacon slicer.

Fantastic TV series. Best thing after you've watched it is to read the books. Then you've got those fantastic performances fresh in your mind, but the book has an unlimited FX budget -- you get the games, the battles, the triumphs, all of the stuff they couldn't afford over at the BBC.

I have it on DVD. Marvellous series and as you note, some astonishing actors.

You forgot Sian Phillips, playing Livia - a tour de force of cold ambition, whose penultimate scene with Claudius where she shares her actions and reveals a terror of the afterlife, is utterly compelling.

Absolute masterpiece. I watched that series in two days in my first summer of college.

Yes a tour-de-force in anyones book. Just don't let her make you a Sunday lunch! She must have bumped off half the royal family. Yes little boots did upset her on her deathbed didn't he?

Ah well an intermission until tuesday, I can't wait.

I've watched the series twice, and am in the process of watching it again. You could say that I enjoy it.
