That's a tank Ichi and I have been working on yesterday, I made the base design and then we both tweaked it a bit, the green stuff is just for cosmetics, the real fun is getting the physical things right so it can actually drive over obstacles etc, it's not even that easy to get a chain around the wheels in the first place.![]()

How did you manage to have the hinges not affixed to the background??
edit: got it, this is a cool program!![]()

I think hinges either fix one object to the background or any number of objects to the last object before the background. Fixations fix the upper object to the one below I think.

here's a trebuchet.. sort of.
http://i26.tinypic.com/15qq4ac.jpg
it has a habit of moving on its own.. not sure why.. i think the wheels are a bit out of alignment. you cut (erase) the spring and send the ball flying.. the angle is very shallow at the moment, working on a way to balance to ball and straighten the sling for a better angle.
now i'm here, and history is vindicated.
Did you try to set the base to not "collide with stuff"?Originally Posted by Big_John

I dont get it.

no.. why would that help? does it interfere with the wheels or something?Originally Posted by Faust|

I took your Trebuchet idea and got it working really well.![]()

not sure if this will work.. try putting that file into your phun/scenes/ folder. this is a new trebuchet that uses the underslung basket. not perfect, but it kind of works.
the enemy is stockpiling assorted melons.. what are you going to do about it???

yeah, if you don't set the base to not collide with objects the wheels will be trying to "escape" from inside the base all the time.Originally Posted by Big_John

Here is a tank including a small obstacle course I made, Ichi also contributed to the tank design, he "invented" the blocks on the chain.
I tried to make a better tank yesterday but came a across a few problems, i may attempt it again next week or so.

that's badass. i made the motors arrowkeyed, and turned the strength down to 100,000. i tried to make it go over the tower, but i ended up flipping it. :(Originally Posted by Husar

Yeah, it's fun. I find it easier to make a good catapult than a good trebuchet.
And I even got a water propelled vehicle to work, though it's terrible inefficient. Basically a piston pushes water out the back from a tank, and the water pushes back, so the vehicle (slowly) moves forward.
And for obstacle traveling, I find a vehicle with several sets of wheels attached via spring system works well.

I had a ton of fun with this thing, creating a little motorized paddle at 2400 rpms with a motor strength of +infinity and dipping it into some water was great fun all on its own![]()
