Default Wales, swordsmiths and Gwent raiders.

Anybody know whether Gwent Raiders contribute to Swordsmiths' Guild points for the Welsh?

I've been spamming them for quite a while at Caernarfon, but the swordsmiths don't seem to be biting and there's no other sword-armed unit in the Welsh roster.

    Ta.

These are the only units that count towards swordsmiths guild in Britania (my guess is lazy coding/rushed release)

    Armored Swordsmen
    Highland Nobles
    Noble Swordsmen
    Gotland Footmen
    Muire
    Norse Swordsmen
    Dismounted Feudal Knights
    Dismounted Chivalric Knights

So no Ulster swordsmen no Ostmen no Gwent Raiders. The welsh have no unit in the list.
I get my swordsmiths guilds as Wales by building lots of armourer line buildings.
In Montgomery at start of the game build all 4 possible in a row and you will be offered Masons guild first then few turns later a Swordsmiths guild(every time within first 15 turns). I guess same applies to the big castle but i usually wait till it hits citadel then build all the possible(useablel)armourer buildings. I don't know if one can get masterswordsman/headquaters this way

    Thanks for the info Gaius.

Man, that's quite depressing. Clearly Ulster swordsmen are a bona fide sword unit (surely the clue is in the word swordsmen). Ostmen and Gwent Raiders are as much swordsmen as say Spanish Swordsmen Militia.

Ah well, I'm going to take your advice and spam smithy buildings. I've just taken Nottingham and got offered the Swordsmiths' Guild there ok, so at least I've got one central weapon specialist.

At least I've learnt to respect Gwent Raiders. They're quite handy despite their lowly stats. They seem to be about as handy as Rhyfelwyr anyway. What they lack in attack power, they make up for in the fact they're not cumbersome two-handers.
