When would have been the first uses of glass for windows? I know that glass was used for other things long before EB times but what about windows? If not then what would have been used for windows? Just a shutter?

as far as i know, he first clear see-through glass for windows was somewhere in the middle ages.
Could be wrong, i'm no expert.
In the middle ages horn was sometimes used for windows (you can heat it and roll it out it seems). Not transparent, but it lets some light in and keeps the cold out.
