The version you are referring to is 4.1 which requires Kingdoms.Land To Conquer all the way. A super balanced, very difficult, good AI vanilla, with the choice of early/high/late dating dates. Blew me away.
However Lands to Conquer version 3.1 is very good if you only have vanilla1.2 (like me). It does not have the early/high/late date option though.
