    Default Which mods to use?

    Hi everyone,

I'm back to playing M2TW after a break and I would like to know what would be the optimal mod to use with the 1.2 vanilla version M2TW. No Kingdoms and no plans to buy it, so Kingdoms-only mods are out of the question.

    Your input is greatly appreciated.

Thats a tough one, i suppose you could download 1.3, that is on kingdoms but you can download it from here too, and i do not think it requires kingdoms, then you might consider downloading the broken crescent, i personally havent played it but people say it is good

and stainless steel is nice too (with kingdoms even better)

Broken Crescent, and it doesn't require kingdoms either. (if you want to play MP or PBM games with people who have kingdoms, you'll need to patch M2TW to 1.3, otherwise 1.2 is just fine)

stainless steel is the best mod i have ever played, i havnt tried bc as i dont like games focused on one area

i like it better than eb and rtr etc because it does not take itself very seriously, while still being an absolutely stunning mod for the amount of people who work on it

if your absolutely dead set on not having kingdoms then i suggest you get SS 4.1, although if you choose to not buy kingdoms you may be missing out on one of the best singleplayer fun tw has to offer with stainless steel 5.1

irish, kieven rus, norway, lithuania, knights templar etc etc all playable in the grand campaign

for all the rancor over this securom business i have had no problem with it, infact i didnt even know abnout it till i read it here...i'v uninstalled and reinstalled kingdoms many times due to my butchering of the files in attempts at modding and it has never attempted to stop me from installing the game or anything

and if it stays on my computer i really dont care, it can just cozy up to the legion of other things that are probably lingering in the murky depths of my hard drive that dont get picked up by my uber antivirus anti spyware

Were troubled, and the full-maned horses whirled

    The most popular are
    Land To Conquer
    Stainless Steel
    The Long Road
    Broken Crescent

BC is the only one i've tried and I love it.

twcenter is a much better resource for mods than here. I love this forum with all my heart but all the great mods and discussion about them are over there.

I agree with reise there, it is much easier to actually find mods over there, but this place has a much more friendly environment, and people i like so i prefur it here

Land To Conquer all the way. A super balanced, very difficult, good AI vanilla, with the choice of early/high/late dating dates. Blew me away.

The version you are referring to is 4.1 which requires Kingdoms.

However Lands to Conquer version 3.1 is very good if you only have vanilla1.2 (like me). It does not have the early/high/late date option though.

I have tried a couple of mods, maybe three of four, There are parts of those mods I would like to put in one mod as a matter of choice. If you want version 1.2 and a big map, my choice is Regions and Provinces mod. Right now the last version is getting a good look at by a one man army-me.

Isnt 1.3 a mod you get with kingdoms but is actually designed for the original too???

1.3 is a patch that patches Vanilla so it is compatible with kingdoms when playing multi player games
