Yes, he did defy the rather short-lived tradition of adopting the successors, picking young people with immense talent, instead of merely putting one's own spoiled son on the throne. However, the plague happened during his reign as well, and that was not his fault.

Well, neither was Hitler when you really look at him. I mean, excluding his mass murder of Jews, Slavs, Roma, Jehovah's Witnesses, homosexuals, retarded people, POWs, and etc, etc, etc. Excluding his violent rallies, the War he started that proved to be the deadliest one ever, the bombings of civilians, etc, etc, etc. Nor was Quisling or Vlasov, I mean all they did was sell themselves to the Nazis. Caligula was relatively decent as well. So was Stalin.

Yes, that was sarcasm, although one can argue for Stalin and Hitler, saying that they, especially Hitler, were excellent rulers, save for the losing war Hitler began, and the repressions of Stalin. However, I would like to hear some arguments towards Commodus. That he was a mighty gladiator perhaps? How would that make him a good ruler though? I hope you were merely jesting.

Yeah okay, that was a bad idea. Saying that would lead to a flame war.

And Commodus wasn't such a bad guy, really. I'm talking about him as a person, not as an emperor.

    - Vespasian 89%
    - Trajan 86%

I thougth the inner Trajan would win

My last places are the four worst early emperors, Caligula Nero Commodus and Domitian (Hate domitian because of actions like Agricola's Scottish campaign....)

    You Scored as Hadrian

You are the great emperor Hadrian. Not only great for the fact that he didn't mess something up, but he relentlessly administered the empire and set viable borders. Art, cultivation and wisdom mark your reign. The fact that you prefer the boys really helps with the wise handing over of the purple to only the most qualified.

    You Scored as Antoninus Pius
Your attention to good character and stability has earned you your standing as Antoninus Pius. Your long and moderate reign is probably one of the most peaceful epics in human history up to the modern age. It is too bad more emperors did not share your humility.

    You are Augustus!

First emperor of the Romans and one of the greatest statesmen in the ancient world. You brilliantly eased the old Republic into the Principate and set the path for an empire that would last for centuries and form the underpinnings for all western civilization. Hail Caesar!

    You Scored as Marcus Aurelius

Your attention to duty even when the going gets rough has earned you the identity of Marcus Aurelius. A philosopher-emperor, he used Stoic musings to steel his resolve against a hard lot in life. You know few years of peace, and believe the only final answer to the empire's problems is a complete conquest of Europe. Despite this, you are probably one of the most human and thoughtful emperors in the history of mankind. Hail Caesar!

Answering all questions as if you were a deified revolutionary commander leads, after a tiebreaker, to this:

    You Scored as Caligula

Your endearing nickname 'Little-Boots' will become associated with fear and madness later in life. While your reign started out on a good note, your warped upbringing and probably mental deformity will cause you to be known to history as the worst of Roman emperors. You will die assassinated a hated man.

    You Scored as Vespasian

Your attention to military affairs and your humble life make you Vespasian, one of the great emperors. Nearly your whole life you have fought wars of conquest or crushed rebellions, and in fact you have earned the empire in this way after the bloody civil war of The Year of the Four Emperors. The empire is in capable hands with your practicality and discipline.

    Here are my scores.

    You Scored as Trajan
You are quite fortunate to rank as the emperor Trajan, possibly the greatest of Roman emperors. You have relentlessly expanded the empire and even humbled the mighty Parthian empire. Loved by all, vastly larger than life, you are the model for all future emperors. It is hard to find a bad thing to say about you. HAIL CAESAR!

I usally try to do as lttle as possible on the campaign map, and instead rule the battlefield with an iron fist. I was there when alexander crossed the indus. I was there at waterloo, when napoleon was defeated. I was there at cannae, when we slaughtered the romans. I was there when el cid kicked moorish butt. I was there at the siege of alesia, where we dominated. I was there with the 501st legion, when we won the battle of geonosis. I was there, standing with my brothers in arms, in the trenches of hoth. I was there, killing mutant bugs, on the planet hesperus. And most importantly, i was there when general George S. Patton kicked NAZI ASS!

I'm quite pleased with my result. I got one of the 5 good emperors.

    You Scored as Antoninus Pius

Your attention to good character and stability has earned you your standing as Antoninus Pius. Your long and moderate reign is probably one of the most peaceful epics in human history up to the modern age. It is too bad more emperors did not share your humility.

    You Scored as Tiberius

You are Tiberius, actually a good emperor in the scheme of things, but eventually you will become hated because you hated yourself and your role. You never really wanted to become emperor, and you never really got what you wanted in life. These unfulfilled aspirations will lead to dark moods and an eventual indulgent isolation on the Isle of Capri.
