I needs me a map of rome around the time the game takes place. Preferably a detailed picture so i can devide it up into territories that my 4 main aristocratic families control. If anyone has such a map i'd be grateful.

Not a very good map here, and from 400 years after the start of the game but I would assume that the central city is more or less the same.

i think he means the empire, don't see how he can divide a city in territories :)
Hmm...sounds interesting. Are you making a city-based mod?
Sorry i dont have a map![]()
The Gods envy us.
They envy us because we are mortal, because any moment might be our last.
Everything is more beautiful because we are doomed.
You will never be lovlier than you are now.
We will never be here again.
Perhaps this may be of use to you.
The low area between the Quirinal hill and the Palatine was the subura, definitely built up when Caesar lived there in the 1st century BC. Lots of markets etc there (and apparently a dangerous area).
The Campus Martius was probably built up by the 1st century BC, since Julius Caesar was killed at the theater of Pompey (irony?), which stood there.
The 'corner' across the river had the Pagus Janiculensis, which was settled early on.
No-one had lived on the Capitoline hill since the early days of the republic, so that is largely temple, including the great temple of Jupiter Optimus temples
The Aventine was the traditional home of the plebeians.

No, i'm doing a story (i hope) based on a Romani campaign. Think of it as The Mafia in ancient rome. I want the map so i can add an extra dimension.Originally Posted by TruePraetorian
That map could work quite nicely Maeran, its uncluttered enough that i can edit it easily. Do you have any idea what the dotted line is though?

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think there are any complete surviving maps of ancient Rome that have been discovered?
Rome was burnt to a cinder in 65 AD, not to mention the massive redevelopement of Augustus before that. As far as city-building went though Nero was the man who really transformed Rome.Originally Posted by Dhampir

not great quality - very small, scanned from a book. Might help though - is from around 70AD i think.
Probably not, actually. No way to tell though, it's a topic which has provoked significant sophistry.Originally Posted by thelord
