How to take out holy man of different religion?

I was thinking that I could use my priests to take down an imam who is in one of my provinces. I don't see how to do that. So, is the only way to stop him is use an assassin?
Also, as a side question, in my current game I noticed a crossed sword icon on campaign map that is named Sight of Famous Battle. It was an AI-AI battle, so I don't know what happened. Any one know what causes that icon to pop up?

1. Assasinate them or wait until they die or become a heretic!

2. These "site of famous battle"-swords appear after a big battle has happened there. I don't know what exactly it needs to make them appear but i think it has something to do with battle rating (must be heroic battle?) and number of men involved.

Yeah ive seen one of those, on my campaign as the Scots, i saw one saying the rebels had defeated an English horde, a few turns later the English where out of England, i love those independent wannabes

there are only 2 ways to take out opposing clergy, 1 is legit, and the other is considered an exploit by more than a few.
1 use an assasin
2 do the 9 unit stomp (surround the enemy agent with 8 units, leaving him nowhere to go, then move the 9th unit into the agent's spot, bam, no more Imam)

any heroic battle will leave those. if ya hold your mouse over it there's info who and when fought as well the bettle results. pretty neat little feature.

The game should allow a priest to take on the imam. I mean, if he can denounce a heretic, why not one of a different religion.

Err, trials for heresy within Catholicism took place often. Trials between different religions were called wars.

If you want to get rid of all the Imams, get rid of all the Muslim nations.

On the famous battle issue, I don't think all heroic battles give them. Also I think they can disappear, probably if they are replaced by a new one, mabye there is a limit.

LOL but true.

Or play Broken Crescemt where religious unrest is much less noticable and you can't even build priests/imams unti tier 4 buildings. Also there are Pagan and Hindu factions to get a break from the boring Christian/Muslim stuff.

Assassins can kill Imams, but priests cant as they are not heretics...

The symbol for the site of famous battle is used in Kingdoms as a merchant resource symbolising Weapons.

So, if the site of famous battle is dependant on how many troops you have an the outcome, could you make these simultaneously by winning a heroic victory against england by butchering their spearmen with heavy infantry towards the start of the game???

At the start of the game you plenty of these Site of Famous Battle icons. But it seems as the game gets on you cant get one to show up no matter how massively big the opposing forces are.

I wish CA would fix this in a patch (lol) becuase I cannot stop myself from using this cheesy exploit. I lack the foritude will when it comes to these things especially when assasins seem to be a costly gamble.

well maybe not remove it but if you did to some neutral faction it would be auto-war

You gotta love the Nine Square Squish. I bet everyone does it on the sly. A level 9 piety imam loitering around a conquered Holy Land town is nigh on impossible to counter with churches and priests alone... They're practically begging to be squished... They love it.
