You can't place them actually ON the walls.. Sadly enoughBut you can just place them against a wall if that is what you mean ;)

So do you have to arch their fire over the walls - does it block their site?
Yeah it does! At least.. that happens when i'm playing ;-) So you shouldn't position them too close to any wall, but rather a small distance away from them. But remember.. if you can't hit enemy troops with your arrows.. so can't your enemies hit yours!![]()

Don't forget that castles come with automated defenses, including arrow towers. For that reason, I often find missile troops aren't always that worthwhile for defending castles -- better to have some decent heavy infantry to block the gates instead.![]()

Yeah I totally agree! It's better to have, say Feudal/Chivalric Man at Arms, standing behind your castle's gate, once the enemy has breached your walls! But it can sometimes be also an advantage when the enemy has a lot of archers, because then you can place your troops out of the firing-zone ;)

Its very true that missle units suck in defense of castles...and it is a good idea to have some heavies at the gate but be sure to watch your walls so u have sum defence if the enemy decides to go through themOriginally Posted by Martok
