LOL at VHI

I thought Sherwood archers were a fantasy unit but VHI takes the cake:

stat_pri 16, 5, no, 0, 0, melee, melee_blade, slashing, axe, 25, 1.33

Attack of a 2 handed weapon, charge of 2 handed weapon and the lethality of a 2 handed weapon in one nice package:

Example: Norse Axemen:
stat_pri 17, 6, no, 0, 0, melee, melee_blade, slashing, axe, 25, 1.33

and that of course is without the disadvantage of the 2 handed axe animation

Compare to a normal axe armour piercing one handed unit like Dismounted Boyar sons/Dismounted Huscarls/Dismounted Druzhna

I know Retrofit fixes it but without nerfing the unit to much (7 attack in retrofit) and still being very useful in main vanilla campaign, I use the above (Dismounted Druzhna) stats and VHI is still a very useful line infantry especially in hot regions(low heat fatigue)

VHI still have their weaknesses. They do not have Good Morale (huge disadvantage), and I don't think they have Good Stamina either.

They don't need good morale: Venetians have the Caroccio Standard and they have good stamina.

I made the worst use of VHI humanly possible - took them to the New World without the Carraccios. AP specialists with bad morale against the Aztecs. Oh well, it was only my second campaign...
